I needed a long, relaxing weekend — and I got it! There was of course the meal to end all meals [I've decided it's not any one dish that I love, but all of them together on one plate at one time -- ohhh, the gratitude it inspires me.] Got to go on a date with my husband, to the ultimate chick flick, Pride and Prejudice. I found this most recent version to be a mostly accurate and time-sensitive alternative to the five-hour video version. I also accompanied Trey and Taft to Chicken Little whilst Dad and the older boys took on Harry Potter. Enjoyed slow mornings, a couple of long walks and a really good jog. Geof put up the living-room tree and lighted it, so all I had to do was finish it off. Still have lots of decorating to do, but am going to take my time. Set up my favorite nativity — I love it because it looks like carved wood or porcelin, but it’s rubber and totally kid-friendly. Just went online and ordered a camel, a donkey and some sheep — I haven’t added any pieces for a couple of years. Had a great bigpicture meeting — we’re putting together a bigpicture weekend for retail stores — which is going to be a lot of fun — I’ll keep you posted on that. We should have some initial class descriptions up by weeks-end [cross your fingers!] Met again with Michelle — an adorable and very helpful designer, who’s been helping us make selections for the home we are building. I picked out the floor for my new scrapbook studio. It’s going to be that industrial rubber stuff with circles in it [can you picture it?] I’ll post a photo sometime soon.
Woke up this morning to SNOW — and what a magical thing it is. Trey ran right outside barefoot. Needless to say, he was back inside rather quickly. Taft and I just made a mini snowman that stands on the picnic table on our deck. I’m always surprised how little time it takes to make a child happy. I still got the laundry started, the kitchen and bathroom cleaned and some of the vacuuming done. Now I’m off to Walmart to pick up photos and my yearly stock-up on mittens and gloves.
Good luck with your million-things-to-do-Monday!
