Got a box of yellow ribbons from Marjorie at Making Memories — and not just any yellow ribbons. Yellow ribbons from NYC!!!. Marjorie and Jennifer Jensen were on that same train from CKU [see whirlwind trip last post] and I was a bit envious that they were going to have time to go to ribbon stores. I’m not sure I can explain my delight in opening this box and finding that Marjorie was thoughtful and generous enough to purchase ribbon for me — and in my favorite color. The really cool thing about it is the box came on Friday — Veterens Day. When I opened it up, I immediately thought of what a yellow ribbon has come to represent in our country. So, here’s to the courage of our armed forces and their long-standing tradition of laying everything on the line for the freedoms we enjoy. Here’s to their committment to peace and protection and most importantly, here’s to the hope that they come home soon.
There are so many small things to inspire gratitude in us and so many big things to be thankful for.
