my world’s on fire …

how ’bout yours — that’s the way I like it and I’ll never get bored! Heard this while exercising this morning and it had particular meaning for me today. I can honestly say, it has been a very long time since I have experienced any kind of boredom.

With just a few more days before CHA [biggest trade show] life is a little more crazy than usual — not that I have to tell you that — I imagine it is obvious based on my very active blog! [ha.]

Just wanted to pop in and say hello!
Here’s my Wednesday’s Words, for January 24, 2006

Have you ever thought that the radical ideas
which threaten institutions,
become institutions threatened by radical ideas?

I’ve loved this from the day I heard it — in a humanities film in college.
If you think about it, it is true on many levels. It also has both good and bad applications — it is I believe a theme common to our progress as human beings and will probably be reason for our demise — pretty deep stuff.

For those of you in my creativity class — we are experiencing email difficulties, which I do not think we could have anticipated. We are working very diligently to eleviate the problem and I am so grateful that you are being patient.

NOTE: If you do not receive a daily email, please let us know at  As of tomorrow, the start of week two, all daily creativity exercises will be posted in the classroom, so you can pop in there and get your daily exercise!

  1. You are amazing! You never stop. I think your great outlook on life in general keeps you going. Happy Travels.

  2. If you like that quote, you may like this one from Frederick Perls Change Theory: “that change occurs when one becomes what he is, not when he tries to become what he is not”. It could easily be substituted to say “creativity happens when one becomes what they are, not when they try to become what they are not”. By the way I DID NOT paint my toenails! LOL Not for me-but I did paint a pair of cheap sneakers that are fun to wear instead!

  3. Hey Stacy! :-) I’m taking your class and really enjoying it. Very cool!
Don’t wear yourself out, have fun at CHA, and I look forward to talking with you soon!

  4. I just wanted to say Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for that Dansko’s plug you made last year. I didn’t forget and when I needed to go get shoes for CHA I went straight to Nordstrom’s. They are a dream! You rock. See you in Vegas.

  5. Ceci O Hurtado says:

amazing – i never realized that i havent been bored in years – too busy ! bust sounds like a page in the works ! :) you are always so CREATIVE and a continous source of inspirations ! Not to mention a breath of fresh air!

  8. I hear ya on the “world being on fire.” I have forgotten what it is like to have a “normal” life…whatever that is. LOL! I’ve forgotten what my eyes feel like when they are NOT tired. I called a friend of mine the other night at 9 PM and she was IN BED READING!!! Wow…what would that be like. Every now and again, I long for a “I’m bored” moment. But more often than not, I love this oh-so-hectic design world I live in. LOL!
