Wednesday’s Words

I think I forgot to post my quote last week — bummer.

I heard this one in church on Sunday. I remember the first time I heard it, it struck a cord with me. When I heard it again, I knew I wanted to share it here. I think it is a remarkable thing to be a woman in this day and age. There is so much we can do and so many we can influence. Everything doesn’t always work in our favor, but we can accomplish so much when we trust in our gifts and intuition and when we have faith in ourselves and in God. Why not let these words inspire you in some feminine follow-through this week.

The world has enough women who are tough; we need women who are tender.
There are enough women who are coarse; we need women who are kind.
There are enough women who are rude; we need women who are refined. We
have enough women of fame and fortune; we need more women of faith. We
have enough greed; we need more goodness. We have enough vanity; we
need more virtue. We have enough popularity; we need more purity.

  1. Thanks for sharing this.
    Do you ever sleep?
It’s early in the morning in the Netherlands, so it must be sometime in the middle of the night where you are.
I love your blog, but GO TO SLEEP! :)

  2. WOW….what an AMAZING quote! I am going to add it to my own blog. Maybe that will snap me out of this icky rainy day blah-fest that I am mired in….
Thanks so much for sharing this. You just never knoe whose life you’re going to touch, Stacy.

  3. A very good quote – and a gentle reminder for those of us in the business world. I’ve never felt called to “be one of the boys” – even if that means not being lawyer of the year. :)

  4. Wanted to let you know I appreciate your inspiration and honesty. Thank you for being you.

  5. great quote! Thanks for being the kind of woman the world needs! :)

  6. What a great quote….and how true. I think my Achievement Day girls are a little young to get the impact, but I’ll save it for when my DD gets into YW. Thanks!

  7. Great quote – so true. Looking at pop culture…it would seem that woman really haven’t come that far. But seeing woman like you, who have morals, faith and dignity gives me hope for the world my daughters will inherit. Reminds me to BE the type of woman I want them to grow into to. Thank you.

  8. I really enjoyed that quote and it is making me think. I’m in this strange period of my life where I’m longing for a family and a home to take care of while most of my girlfriends are constantly struggling in the corporate world climbing that ladder. I used to want this but my nurturing side is in longing… Thanks.

  9. Love this week’s installment!
Thanks for sharing such a powerful reminder.

  10. Awesome quote… will be savin’ it for sure!

  11. I LOVE this quote — one of my favorite “woman” quotes ever from general conference. thanks for the reminder!

  12. Thanks for sharing this quote! I too work w/the 14/15 girls as their counselor at church, and I’ll be sure to share this with them.
    Smiles!
