Maybe it’s Mark’s fault …

Here are my words for Wednesday, February 8th — you might notice that today is Thursday the 9th. I am as of late — late. It seems the phrase a dollar short and a day late, sums up my current existance. Had I gotten farther down my list yesterday, I would have posted this quote:

Twenty years from now
You will be more disappointed
by the things you didn’t do
than by the ones you did do.
So throw off the bowlines
Sail away from the safe harbour
Catch the trade winds in your sails

I think my current state of affairs is a direct result of my totally and whole heartedly believing these words, and others like them. So, maybe I can blame it all on Mark Twain.

As crazy as it is, I love my life — and I will continue to pile more on, understanding that occasionally I’ll hit the wall, go splat and then pick myself up and continue on.

Thanks to a dear friend in South Africa for sending me this quote, allowing me to read it again. It’s so true, and I so appreciate the friendships and connections that scrapbooking has blessed me with.

Sure hope you are having a "pick me up" and "get going" kind of day.
If not, take a deep breathe and know that you’ll get it back soon.

CHA was fabulous.
More soon.

  1. suzanne balvanz says:

just what we all needed today! God has given me this day, what I do with it is up to ME!

  5. Have you seen the one that goes (and I paraphrase here):
A ship in harbor is safe; but that is not what ships are built for.
God never gives me more in one day than I can handle. I just wish he didn’t trust me so much. (M. Teresa)
    Thanks for the reminder…..

  6. so here you are. i was seriously worried you were dead! i just hate it when you don’t post.

  7. This quote goes into my favorite quotation book and I’ll be sending it to my daughter who is in Africa right now for six weeks (throwing off the bowlines and sailing away from safe harbour). Thanks for the quote (I do so love Mark Twain :)

  9. Stacy, thanks for this quote. I’ve added it to my Caribbean vacation travel journal. I was having anxiety over leaving my family to go on this trip and now I feel like its all OK. Thank you again.
