or at least Nike Goddesses like me, who are in training for a physical push! Breakfast is the most important meal of the day you know — could even be the most memorable if you eat nutritiously delicious things like this granola. My friend Jill brought this to me and it was gone in two days!
1 box oatmeal [the old fashioned kind with Mr. Quaker on the box]
1 box bran flakes [no name brand is OK]
1 1/2 cup flour + 1 pound brown sugar
2 cup olive oil
3 cup honey
8 oz pecans
8 oz any other kind of nut you like [almond slices, sesame seeds, etc]
Mix all together and spread evenly on cookie sheets sprayed with non-stick cooking spray, like Pam. Bake at 200 degrees for two hours, stirring every 30 minutes.
Let cool and mix with your favorite dried fruit [cranberries, cherries, raisins]
Now, I’m told this makes a ton. I’m making my first batch today — so I’ll report back.
Speaking of report back — how are all of you doing in your training?
p.s. and how big of a dork am I that I dress up my granola to photograph it. Got some new Strano ribbon in the mail and had to show it off!
