from the last month of my life — in no particular order.
Just thought he looked entirely handsome and grown up this day. Just won first place for his swinging moves at the annual fifties dance and scored two runs at the baseball game today. Moments of emerging teenage attitude are forgotten when he smiles at me like this.
My uncle Bob and aunt Ellen (parents away from home during my freshman year in college) and my brother Cougar and his wife Hillary. We are inside the Joseph Smith Memorial building on Temple Square in Salt Lake City. That would be the larger than life statue of Joseph Smith behind us. We had just watched the new movie about the life of this modern-day prophet/leader – so inspiring. It’s a must see when you’re there.
Friends I ran into at the Scrapbook USA event on National Scrapbook Day. Shared a little project that will be part of my Library class at BPS. It was crazy, but fun. Ran out of kits about two hours early — oops. I think I was supposed to approach things in a more orderly fashion — maybe next time? Thanks to All My Memories (love these mini-albums) for inviting me to be a part of this, and to my darling sister for totally helping me out. I couldn’t have done it without her. We wore our matching skirts and I did NOT get a photo [bummer] I ran into lots of friends from my earlier life as DOTS (CTMH) demonstrator and Paper Hearts moonlight madness instructor — so fun reminiscing.
Got to go see some of the amazing houses on the Parade of Homes tour in Salt Lake — my birthday present from Darci and Kevin. In one very cool and colorful house we found some issues of SS magazine — made me so happy. They were on a shelf in this totally cool bonus room/kids playroom/mom’s scrapbook hideaway!
I surprised my hubby with a 40th birthday trip to the Red Mountain Spa in St. George, Utah. Randy/Diane and Nolan/Jenn — dear friends from our college days were each a part of the surprise. Serious fun.
We ate delicious and totally healthly food …
and hiked, biked, swam, did yoga and even danced (salsa) for two days surrounded by the beauty of the desert in bloom
I haven’t been so inspired to photograph flowers, since Hawaii on our 10th anniverary. I feel a mini-album coming on!
Just in case you are wondering what my happiest color is — take a look at my new kitchen, taking shape! So exciting.
DQ smiles — which has to be one of the nicest things about warmer weather.
Paper Pals — the store that I visited on Saturday is in the same parking lot as a DQ. Does it get any better than that — Basic Grey and Blizzards right next to each other?!
Thanks again girls — I had a blast. You were so fun. Estelle — you’re beautiful.
Love my green shirt and the Cowgirl Chocolates btw …
Found my babysitter Ashli and Taft fast asleep in the van after class.
How cute are they? Ashli is helping pack up my studio for the big move. Couldn’t do it without her!
Oh and some beautiful thistle-things (anyone know the name?) When I was in college my roomates and I donned heavy gloves and picked these prickly plants so we could hot-glue them to straw wreaths for Christmas presents — odd how memories are triggered. All I had to do was see these bathed in sunlight and I’m immediately back in 1985, at the Courtside Condominums #204 — talk about strange connections.
Anway .. that’s it — just some of the days and moments and memories so far this month.
Is it any wonder we love this lifestyle so much?
