I’m learning …

In addition to being MIA, I’ve had some bad blog luck lately — lost three different posts before finishing. Needless to say, I’m learning to write out what I want to say in a word document, so i can just copy it!  OK, I know it’s a been while, but it’s been absolutely NUTS. I have some very BIG things to announce and a whole bunch of little things to share. I’m home now (sort of) for a couple of weeks, so that will help.

First of all, if you haven’t already heard, I am completely thrilled to announce Heidi Swapp as the 2007 year-long instructor at Big Picture Scrapbooking. I’m actually pinching myself, to make sure I’m not dreaming. I think Heidi is one of the most authentic women I know, and the thought of helping bring more of her “big picture” into your home at your convenience is almost more than I can wrap my enthusiasm around (and I have a LOT of enthusiasm) Heidi is amazingly talented, but she is also very real and very approachable. If she were “just” Creative Director of her own company and line of product that would be impressive enough, but she is so much more. I’ve never met anyone so committed to delighting others – whether it’s her own family, a classroom full of SHE students at CKU-A or nearly 600 scrapbookers at a live event – for Heidi it’s all about the details, the little things that in the end create the unforgettable memories. We’ll be posting a class description soon and you’ll get to hear from Heidi herself more about her vision and what she wants to have happen in what we are calling A Year to Remember.

Could she possibly be any more adorable? I’d love to have a nickel for every woman that has taken her picture to her hair stylist and said “Make me look like this!” This image btw is part of slide from my Creative Escape presentation — what an amazing event that was! And btw2 — I really appreciate the generous compliments and notes and thoughts that so many have emailed and left here. Thank YOU!

Trey

And, on another note, my cutie-boy Trey is 8 years old today. He is a one-of-a-kind, overflowing-with-personality kind of kid and brings so much joy and laughter in to our home. Caught him the other afternoon plugged into my ipod, obviously unwinding from the hectic life of a almost-eight-year-old. Have to get some work done today, and then I’m taking treats to his classroom. I was at the Safeway bakery this morning at 6:15 a.m., ordering the cake and will be pulling together tomorrow’s party this afternoon – I have decided I am the queen of last-minute living. So far, so good. I was actually on my way home this morning from dropping my friend Jenni Cox at the airport. She was the executive producer of our SS DVDs and is now the Creative Executive for Clique TV (more info coming very soon) This is a brand-new project at Enthusiast Media (the new Primedia) spear headed by our publisher Tony Golden. It’s all about inspiration and entertainment and will bring together industry talent, behind-the-scenes product info, exclusive offers and more. Anyway, Jenni and a film crew have been in my house for two days. Like seriously in my house – in my studio, my laundry room, my pantry – we are talking true reality in the Julian home. They filmed me in my bathrobe, on my morning run, working in my office and making brownies in the kitchen. I tried to post the “too much reality” moment we had in my office with my computer, but it wasn’t meant to be. Luckily, I have a Mac, covered by Apple Care and that is all I’m going to say for now.

  6. Hi Stacy, Have you tried using a blog editing software? I use Blogdesk (www.blogdesk.org) for my professional and personal blogs. It works great. I can edit images and save both in-progress and published posts. But I don’t think there’s a BlogDesk version for Mac yet. You can try Qumana (www.qumana.com), which I know has a Mac version. I haven’t tried it, but I know some probloggers who use it. I hope this helps you not to lose any more posts.

  17. Karen Greenfield says:

My birthday is also the 22nd..but I’m 57 instead of 8….but 8 is my shoe size which my 21yo daughter says is my real age. Had to laugh out loud at “throws” of life..it’s really spelt throes—but your word is so much more descriptive, I think we should all change!!!
