Just for fun on a friday ..

I want you to look today for the chance order of things.
here’s what I mean:
Friday_bib

I reached in the bib drawer and pulled out the Friday days-of-the-week bib. I never did get the days-of-the-week underwear as a little girl, so I am just kind of thrilled by the bibs. Anyway — I do NOT have time to make sure that Addie actually wears these bibs on the designated day, but when by chance this happens I feel somehow lucky — like the universe, with all it has to do, is smiling on me.

I believe that there are signs of universal smiling all around us. Look for one today in your life and then either tell me about it or just record it in a journal or (should the universe smile and give you some extra time) on a scrapbook page.

There is an order to things (for those of you in my LOM class, it isn’t necessarily a chronological order!) and I think when we allow ourselves the eyes to see — we discover, it is indeed there, and we are a part of it!

happy friday.

Oww Addie looks so content and a picture of healt. I love you blog and your story of Addie. Love from Holland and thank you for sharing your life with us.

  2. I wouldn’t go so far as to say that the universe is smiling on me today as much as my kids. They called for snow yesterday and there was none, so was already to get the last day of the school week taken care of when I looked out the window and there was about 3″ of snow! Don’t you know that made their day! I just will have to wait a little longer for my smile I guess!. (Now off to sort another 100 pics for LOM and get my category colors decided on:)

  3. Well, I’m heading to my lss and hoping they have your book…..because I’ve been wanting it and I’m taking a “CHANCE” that they’ll have it in stock…..and if they do, I’ll come back and let you know :)
What an adorable picture of your sweet baby girl! I miss baby’ness!

  4. Ohhh yes, the universe is smiling at me today! My steering on my car has been slipping a bit…went in today to get it aligned and new tires thinking that was the problem. And…umm…I had a big loose bolt on the front driver side. So basically the front end of my car could have fallen off as I was driving. So YES, I think the universe is smiling on me today…especially as I now drive safely down the road! :)

  5. Universe is smiling on me today and yesterday. Yesterday I found out I got a new job that I really wanted. Today I managed to get tickets to a show for next week, it is sold out until May or something. And I got a scrapbook page done this afternoon… such a good day.

  6. Michelle Bostinelos says:

I went to Target today telling myself my limit was $100. I love Target I could spend hundreds of dollars there in one visit! My total came to $100.11 – almost exactly my limit and I wasn’t even watching the price of things as I flung them in my cart! The universe is smiling on my bank account :)

  7. Well, I’m so glad you posted this photo today… Friday! :) Seriously, I missed you at CHA and heard nothing but “Addie’s sooooo cute!” and “Addie’s sooooo sweet!” comments from those who did manage to catch you! Oh, well… maybe next show! In the meantime, keep up the good work… never can get enough of SS or BPS!

  8. Me, I just took advantage of the happy coincidence that I was off from work today, had my much loved camera at an opportune time, and the Universe saw fit to give me some pretty things to photography this morning

  9. okay I’m back….and I got the book :) So excited to read about it.
and the smiling down came when I had a coupon plus my punch card was full….so I picked up some fancy pants chipboard flourishes and some cbx chipboard letters! Go me! (as if you needed to hear all of that)!

  10. What an amazing post this morning and a beatiful picture of your gorgeous little one! I also do believe that there are “signs of universal smiling all around us.” I will have to journal on that today (what a great topic to focus on.) That’s one more reason why I am so in love with flowers. I strongly believe they are God’s way to smile to us every day! And I cannot miss the chance to appreciate their beauty whenever I can! :)

  11. I work at a school and we just completed a school program (very hectic behind the scene). We were all regrouping when we get the word that 2 teachers smell smoke in 2 rooms. At that moment, a fireman walked in the door to do an inspection-Big Smile on our part of the universe.

  12. Addie is getting so big! And she’s so lovely.
God really is in the small things, isn’t he?

  13. Teri Miner says:

Addie’s just so cute…I’m always happy to see her picture. Love those Bumbo seats!
I feel like the universe is smiling on this mommy today. I was supposed to be out this afternoon, but my sitter cancelled, and I’m very grateful. My 8 month old, Ellie, pulled herself up to stand for the first time and I was here to see it and photograph it. She was soooo proud of herself! Just darling!

  14. Love those chubby fists!! Even more yummy with all the slobber on them! :)
Ok, i’m taking you up on your smiles challenge, but i’ll blog on my own space about it since it will probably be a bit long.

  15. Well Stacy the universe is smiling on me today because we just got our first look at our first child. I am about 11 weeks along and words can’t describe how cool it was to see little fingers and a beating heart and even facial features developing! The universe is having a really great day today :)
    ~Emma

  16. Camille Fargo says:

I know the universe is smiling on me today, because my “not quite” 2 year old, pooped and peed on the potty all day today!! Yay Julia!! You Go Girl! :) Camille

  17. I felt that way today when my son was posing for pictures…he is such a sweetie-pie! (on today’s blog entry)
Your little Addie is a doll!!!!! xoxox

  18. The weatherman was smiling on me today. After hoping for snow here in southwestern TN Wednesday night and being disappointed, I was planning on taking Friday off from teaching to stay home with my sick son. The universe smiled, it snowed Thursday night, and I got Friday off with him without having to take a sick day!

  19. Got myself and the kids ready for school this morning with a half hour to spare! Out the door on time ~ everybody happy! Big smile! After I made the school drop off the littlest one and I went to Target, got what we needed (under $25) and back home to play ~ an even bigger smile! And Addie, OMG, she’s beautiful!! Those cheeks, love ‘em!!!

  20. I just want to kiss on those cheeks!
    Miss you!

  21. Wha an uplifting post…it makes me smile and I just want to say that being apart of the LOM class makes me smile…it is so freeing.
    thanks for that.
    peace
    Kim

  22. Was not having the greatest day at work but came home for lunch and got to watch Jack’s Big Music Show with my daughter and hubby. Guess who’s video was featured today? Steve Burns from Blue’s Clues! It put a smile on my face to get though the rest of the day. Check it out here

  23. I am so glad to see someone else believing in the Universe. I was sitting in a pub one Friday night, complaining that I had missed the films, “Trainspotting” and “Fargo” at the movies. Within minutes I opened the newspaper to find a double feature of these two films at my local cinema on Sunday afternoon. How perfect !! I believe you simply have to ask the Universe for want you need and It will deliver. Tanks for letting me share this story.

  24. I don’t know about the universe, but I know that I am smiling today because I got THE BIG PICTURE in the mail from amazon yesterday!!! How have i been a scrapper for more than 10 years and NEVER READ IT BEFORE???? i can feel it changing my WHOLE way of existing as a scrapbooker already, and I have only skimmed the surface of what the book offers!!!! I am a little overwhelmed with the thought of change, but TOTALLY EXCITED!!!! thanks for making ME SMILE TODAY!!!!!

  25. Interesting theory! Your little Addie is just adorable!
    Sue

  26. Lyn Meeker says:

Well .. I wore my “got bazzill” shirt this morning and I did get registered for Creative Escape without any problems! .. I’d say the Universe was aligned for me!

  27. Linda Beeson says:

Loved getting to say HI to you for a minute at CHA – but the highlight was getting a look into that adorable, smiling face of your little girl! She is soooo darling, but you that already! LOVE hearing your PINK stories!

  28. I appreciate your posting and have enjoyed reading your blog as well as your magazine writings and, of course, “The Big Picture.” While I agree with a lot of your approaches and philosophies, I have a bit different take on the whole idea of universal order. Might we consider that there is nothing “chance” at all about the order in the universe? To me, the idea of “chance ordering” or what some call coincidence or luck, is in itself quite hopeless and empty and, well, random. I certainly agree that there is beautiful and holy order in the universe–and that we learn so much about ourselves, others, and the world when we stop to SEE and appreciate that order. To me, the most amazing thing is that this universal ordering is not at all random but that it was intentionally created and set in place and is actively maintained by an awesome, powerful, loving and creative God. Thanks for a thought-provoking post. Obviously, God’s handiwork is so evident in your precious little Addie! Thanks for sharing her with us and for your constant insight and inspiration.
    Blessings.

  29. I got extra time for myself today. 3 hours to finish my scrapbooking from yesterday’s crop. And I got to finish my why-people layout to the LOM class.

  30. Please check out my “Manners” post on my blog. It’s at smallerthanariver.blogspot.com The universe was smiling at me on one of those weeks that seemed so negative. I so get it Stacy.

  31. Cutie Addie! When I think of things that just seem to “happen right”, I think of things like choosing to work at the place where I happened to meet my husband (if I’d worked somewhere else I wouldn’t have met him!), a parking place opening up when you really need one, things like that. I like to look for these kinds of things in my life too. They help me focus on the positives. Things do go “right” more often than we realize!

  32. I rolled over saw the clock said 6:15am and was so happy when I realized it was a “sleep in” day. The universe was smiling on me today. Love all the pics of Addie and your look on life in general. Keep the good vibes coming!

  33. I totally agree about the order thing. It’s totally present in my life right now. Love it.

  34. Kim Caldwell says:

Probably coming in last in the long list of Posts, however, I have had two universal smiles this week, both related to LOM. 1. The 14 storage albums I filled with pictures from 2000 – 2006 all fit on the one and only shelf I had space on in my scrapbook room, and 2. I had bought a Memory Dock page planner binder months ago that I never knew what to do with — having just read Week 5 — I do now! Smiling!

  35. Stacy-your post itself is 2nd time the universe ‘smiled’ on me in the last two days!
    That Addie is one cutie!!!
OK, a little background, I have a kitchen pantry that is a design nightmare. As such, every 3-4 months I have to do a major overhaul to retrieve stray granola bars and pirates booty from the back of the shelves. This go ’round I had been procrastinating big time. So on Thursday, 2/1 I told myself ‘Today is the day. I will clean that pantry if it kills me. Now, on this particular Thursday, I was struggling with whether or not I should sign up for the BPS 28 days class. I am so over committed, another class is the last thing I need. But, I felt like I needed a ‘pick me up’ and I went for it. So, what do you think the first photo challenge was?? You got it ‘PANTRY’. I read that and just smiled. Felt totally validated too!! (sorry for the long post!)

  36. Don’t you just love your Bumbo? Those things are awesome! I love it in pink! Addie is gorgeous!

  37. Your daughter is absolutely gorgeous! And I love those “come together moments” that happen everyday.

  38. Today the universe smiled on me when my son did NOT cry when he got shots at his 9 month check up. Gotta love that! He is such a brave boy. So NOT like his mama!!

  39. With scrapbooking in its infancy here in the Philippines, we depend on resellers to get us the goodies fro CHA.. I take my hats off to you for bringing exquisite little Addie along,..I know i cant take my kids in a place like that, they would chuck a fit within 15 minutes of arriving,.. I read your blog almost daily and relish when my friends sends my SS mags from the US.. I do hope the manufacturers will one day look to the Philippines as a marketable scrapbooking industry (my group the scrappinmoms is making every bit count to ensure scrapbooking fever is spread here),..I hope you check out our website, so much talent here in Manila too and you are one of our mentors in improving and making scrapbooking a household name here in the Phils. I hope you get to feature Asian or international scrapper groups too one day in your mags,.. I think it would have such a leaps and bounds effect on insipiration to us hungry scrappers here. I do hope one day I can attend classes in the US too and it would be great to meet you one day..
any way I wanted to tell you how envious i am of your little girl — god only blessed me with 3 boys and so my layouts — i end up squeezing in flowers/jewels just to satisfy my longing for girls..
thanks for reading my little humble email…
    cheers from the PHilippines,
