is better than you might expect! Geof and I are sitting here on our way home from our 3-day Baja California cruise in celebration of Diane’s 40th birthday!!
and here she is now, holding the birthday cow in one of the many shops we browsed in Ensenada, before we headed off on our mountain bike tour of the San Antonia de Las Minas (not sure on the spelling) wine country — dirt roads, small farms, olive trees and vineyards.
We skipped the wine tasting (you should have seen the girl’s face that work at the winery — she was like "you’ve come all this way and you’re not going to taste the wine? what? We explained the overarching reasons and devoured her plate of bread, cheese and olive oil) The whole experience, including the pigs (took this photo for Paula)
was delightful, primarily due to the company!!!
not only did we get to hang out with the Smith’s, we got to meet and enjoy Diane’s college roomate (and husband) I adore Diane and Shannon is just like her!! It was just really, really fun and relaxing.
I need to travel more often with this man. Aside from being my favorite person, he is just really handy when it comes to hanging on to things like the ‘sea pass’ card that gets you on and off the ship, etc … I’m not the best when it comes to remembering details and keep track of things and so even a short jaunt like this reminds me what a lucky girl I am to have Geof in my life.
When’s the last time you saw a flag this big?
Trey and I are off first thing Wednesday morning — so tomorrow will be a whirlwind of unpacking and repacking and laundry and loving and playing with my kids, so I can leave again?!! My life doesn’t leave much room for pleasure trips — but I sure enjoyed this one.
