I’m home …

from a short but very therapeutic ESCAPE in Phoenix! I learned so much and got to rub shoulders with so many — so love the connection and friendship that scrapbooking affords us.

my quote of the day is one that Allison Tyler Jones shared in her keynote presentation Saturday night (she was FABULOUS!!!)

Purposely capturing happy moments
expands your soul.

Olympia Dukakis

This quote can be found in the book,
What I Know Now

It is a collection of letters written by extraordinary women (and edited by Ellyn Spragins)
to themselves at a younger age when the insights and experience they have now would have encouraged them on in their life course. I read several of the letters on the plane coming home. I’ll another quote or two in coming days, and I’ll post the book itself to my list at right. I can’t wait to read it!

  1. I hve personally seen this book myself… love it… this is one on my wish list!!!!

  2. Hello Stacy,
I’ve never commented here before, though I read your blog every day. I don’t spend time on another site anymore because things turned too negative there, and after all, we all have enough of that to face on a daily basis. I ALWAYS find your posts uplifting and I loved having a peek into your life. I miss that. I DO enjoy the quotes, too, but I hope you haven’t experienced too much pain to bounce back.
Thank you for your positive messages.

  3. It was great to see you at Creative Escape!
    Take care,
    Jenn Bertsch

  6. This has nothing to do with today’s entry, just wanted to let you know that I’m finally getting to read through your book ‘The Big Picture…’ I love how you don’t stress about when the photos are scrapped, just that they are. I’m totally thinking about changing my album system to be more like yours. Thanks for the inspiration!!

  7. Hey Stacy! Love all the quotes! Could you PLEASE post the clipboards that you use for your kiddos during the school year? They’ve been working well for us during the summer!! Thanks so much! You’re so inspiring!!

  8. I bought this book for my little sister when she graduated from college. I hoped it would help her become an outstanding adult! I didn’t even read it. I can’t wait to get a copy for myself. Allison Tyler Jones is so inspiring and I was so glad to hear all she had to say. I was so excited to see you at the event. Thanks for doing the playing cards. I loved that part. CE was fabulous!!! Lucy

  9. I love the quotes each day! You are always so inspiring!

    HI there,
I really enjoyed getting to meet you at CE. What fun, huh? I’m so glad I was front and center when you were teaching. By the way, you are even more beautiful in person! :)

  11. I truly enjoyed having the opporotunity to meet you, Paula and Kayce at CE last week. I was thoroughly inspired at that event and it is such a great feeling.
I am also glad you shared a link to the book Allison mentioned in her keynote address. I didn’t have a pen to write it down, so I’m off to order it now!
    Jeanette :)

    Stacy,
Loved your green clogs that you wore one day at CE…would love to find out the brand. Also, thanks to you for the info on your blog about uppercase living. Because of it, I am now a demonstrator…I love their products and didn’t even know there was a company that did home parties…I love quotes & rub ons and their products combine both…it will be like scrapbooking on a much larger scale! Thanks for the info,
    Lorie

  14. Hi. My name is Lara Berch. I have just launched a new website with step by step art tutorials. I was wondering if it’s possible to exchange links with you. http://www.laraberch.com
Thank you very much for your time.

  15. I too, truly enjoyed Allison’s speech. The whole CE experience really made me step back and take a look at the reasons why I scrapbook. I loved your playing card class Friday night and am glad to have met you. Take care!
