September is …

Quote of the day. I was working on a few posts that slipped through (sorry.) September is a bit crazy, as I have to wrap up all the text and visuals for my book, teach at an event, attend, teach and speak at Memory Trends and film a new season of tips for Scrapbook Memories on PBS — then be ready for a photo shoot in my home — it’s all exciting, but I’ve decided in order to focus my energies, I will be simplifying my blog entries by sharing a quote I love everyday. I’ll be back with more personal posts in October.

Several big ideas have come by taking a deep breath, leaving the building and taking a nice long walk in the sunshine down to get some ice cream.

it’s Ok to take a break. In fact, it’s a necessary part of the creative process.

  11. Stacy…so glad to see you back!! I agree with the whole break thing. I have learned that if I don’t take the much needed breaks that we all need as humans, wives, and momma’s, those overwhelmed and frazzled feelings are sure to follow. Breaks equal peace and peace is good.

  20. I just wanted to share that even our lowest hours produce jewels of inspiration. Please excuse me for bringing it up, but your post of apology and discussion of Benjamin Franklin’s list of virtues prompted a bit of soul searching and a quest to find a similar set of virtues with an LDS author.
I was so blessed to find a talk by Elder Faust outlining 10 virtues. I immediately went out, bought a composition book, altered it prettily and titled my new journal “A Woman of Virtue.”
I shared the concept with my RS President – I just moved to a new state and new ward and was called to be her counselor our 2nd week here. She was so excited as well, and we have now developed a whole 12 month scripture study plan and will have all the sisters make their own virtuous journals at our enrichment meeting this month. We will study and try our best to incorporate one virtue each month.
So thank you Stacy, for your humility and your inspiration. I have found much in you to inspire me over the years and I look forward to many more “aha” moments from you in the future.
PS – I really wanted to share my thanks with you and it certainly does not need to appear with your blog, but I didn’t know how else to reach you personally.

  21. Welcome back!! I love this quote, my son’s name is Nolan too :0)enjoy your break and good luck with this busy month, hugs,Rosa.

  22. Recharge, re-energize, rest up. Happy you’re back Stacy. Can’t wait for your new book. Hugs.

  23. Sending hugs your way, because sometimes that in itself is easier than finding the right thing to say. Enjoy your time off..I will look forward to October when you return. Have an extra scoop of ice cream for me!

  24. YAY! You are back. I look forward to reading all your quotes.

  25. I’m looking forward to the quotes. This one is so true. And even if you aren’t in need of a break, a long walk (and ice cream) are always a good thing.

  28. Mmmmmm. I’d like to take a nice long walk in the sunshine down to get some ice cream. Totally not the point of your post, I know, LOL. I agree completely, though. I’m just starting to not feel guilty for taking those breaks. Mine tend to be longer than others’ LOL, but they’re needed just the same. :)

  29. I find I get good ideas in the shower.

  30. So happy that you’re back! You rock.

  31. awesome quote! Good to see you are back :)
