New Zealand, day four

love this place. seriously, love it!
love that my husband is here now — check out the sign he was holding up as I came out of customs at the Auckland airport Monday a.m.
Airport

can’t read it huh? it says "Stacy and Friends" anyway, I was missing him
already and I just thought that was particularly cute of him.
He looks pretty good sitting in the right side of the car too …
Geofdrive

I know you can’t really see an entire country in 4 or 5 days, but I feel like we’ve really experience a broad spectrum of the amazing things NZ has to offer. We left Auckland on Monday, after a quick stop for some inspiration at Kikki K (very cool place)
Kikkik

David drove with Paula and Kayce down to Rotorura and the three couples each have our own car, so we’ve all had our own agenda. Geof and I haven’t vacationed together, alone for a very long time and so it’s been so FUN to just drive and talk — I read to him from the Lonely Planet NZ guide and look at the window ..
Hangifood
Rotorura is the #1 tourist stop in NZ, right in the heart of all the geo-thermal activity — speaking of which, our "hangi" dinner served up at the Maori cultural center was cooked under ground and was succulent to say the least. We were treated to quite a show of singing, dancing and poi-ball swinging — loved it.

I’m sitting in a coffee shop right now without any of my brochures to use as
cheat sheets, so I can’t remember the name of this cool place. We took a short ferry jaunt over to a very "active" area and hiked around (very cool — not really, actually very HOT)
Mount
from there we drove up and through the national park that has snow capped volcanos!
and then down, down, down through lush, green windy country roads.
Sheep

can you see the white specks all over these hills?

and here?
what are they?
Sheep3
SHEEP by the gazillions — seriously, LOTS of sheep.
Ok, I think my time is probably up .. I have many more pics on my camera, yet to download and so much more to share.
LOVE you family, miss you KIDS.
be good to grandma and grandpa!!

I know you have been having tons of fun down under but I’m missing your blogging. I have a big favor. Can you please do the fun Christmas present ideas like you did last year-I found the best things that I have given throughout the year because of that-like the gorillapod.
    Thank you, Cheryl
