snow fun …

third snow day this week, check it out!
Snow

kids are home from school (which I love) but … I have deadlines (yikes!) It will all work out, as it always does. In honor of all this white stuff, here are two things that are SNOW FUN

made Rice Krispy Treats last night, couldn’t remember the recipe (guess it’s been too long) and so I went to www.ricekrispies.com (of course!) Did you know you can play games and make pictures and have all kinds of breakfast-inspired fun?

Rkt

made this sign all by myself.

And this morning, my friend Ceci emailed me this very fun link (it’s a short movie showcasing the 8 irresistible principles of fun) that you should spend 10 minutes with today — guaranteed to lift your spirits above all blizzards and other challenges you might be dealing with on this Thursday!

p.s. uploaded my Disney pics — gotta love how I consistently close my eyes for what could otherwise be a great photo (so me, and so I’m keeping it!)
Disney
keep your eyes open and capture some fun today.

  1. Stacy-
I gotta love your consistently positive attitude about life! We had snow days here in Olympia, and as a mom who works at home, I admit I got a little freaked out about my schedule! I need to remember to enjoy the moment, and than take a photo of it! :)

  2. Oh my – and I thought I was the ONLY one who always has the eyes shut pose in photos! Thanks for inspiring me to save some rather than cringe and “delete” them all.

  3. Catherine says:

No school snow day here in Idaho, although we are getting a little. Maybe all the fasting is paying off.

  4. Hey Stacy~
We’ve had 2 snow days here in Escanaba this week so far (or perhaps chill-ice would be a better description for the ice & windchill that we’ve been getting). I’m a SAHM & I must say, I enjoyed the extra time with the kiddos. Was even able to get the kitchen cleaned & pics finally taken after our paint job. love that!
Enjoy the extra time with your kids. I’m sure you will still find a way to meet your deadlines.

  5. LOVED that link. “If it’s the wrong hole, you need to stop digging” = my new favorite quote.

  6. Tracy (in Alberta) says:

I saw on the news (we got all Spokane networks) that schools have been closed. Our schools never close, the buses might not run, but the school is always open.
I’m so happy it’s finally warmed up to -26F here :( Tuesday is was -58F with the windchill (temp was -40F) and school was open…that’s crazy.

  7. We are having a snow day today but it is nothing like what you are having. It has snowed all morning but already starting to melt :( It never lasts a whole day

  8. It must be a mom thing because my mom never (hardly ever) has her eyes open in any pictures either.

  9. Thanks. Disney always looks fun and that rice krispie sign was cute! My word for this year is ‘joy’ and I’m off to my craft room to find some!

    Hi Stacy,
I love your photo in Disneyland! A few years back I received a 8X10 photo of me and my family for Christmas from my mother-in-law. To my horror my eyes were shut in it, but mother-in-law said “I know your eyes are shut but you looked so beautiful in it I just had to have it blown up.” So glad I’m not the only one who closes their eyes in photos. By the way, you look beautiful!
    Blessings,
    Laurie
P.S. I just signed up for your Library of Memories class. I’m so excited :)

  11. Love the rice crispy sign!

  12. Wow! That’s a lot of snow!! It has been years since I’ve made Rice Krispy treats. But I know they are so good!! Have fun playing in the snow and I hope you get all your deadlines finished.

  13. Jean Woodcock says:

Thank you, Stacy, for the really cool links (and other great items on your blog). I LOVE the 8 Principles of Fun.
Looking forward to reading your new book – I hear it’s awesome!

  14. Susan in NY says:

That is SOOoo funny…I went to DisneyLand for the first time last summer with my DH and kids, my BFF, her DH and their kids. Out of 9 people in the photo, guess who closed her eyes?…yep, ME, the scrapbooker. I was so mad when I saw it! Thanks Stacy for helping me see that photo “through new eyes!” tee hee

  15. your rice krispie making reminded me of a recent recipe we tried that was OUT OF THIS WORLD good.
Chocolate Caramel Krispy treats- found them on Family fun. I recommend upping the amount of butter and adding a few more caramels. The first time I added a whole stick!!! yikes! It was the best mistake I made that day. ha! My husband and I sat down to try them- we each took a bite and he looked at me with that “look” that says OH MY GOODNESS THESE ARE AMAZING AND WHY DIDN’T YOU MAKE THESE SOONER! okay. I’ll stop gushing.
seriously, Stacy, you MUST try these sometime.

  16. Yum! Rice crispy treats are at the top of my son’s all time favorite treats. You have GOT to try them using the recipe that calls for peanut butter!! I believe Jiff’s site has that recipe :)

  17. You have so much snow! Share the wealth! LOL. We got about a foot before Christmas here in RI and only a dusting since. *sigh* I want snow! Rain, rain, go away! At least we got sunshine yesterday though! YAY! :) Love the Disney pic! Tee hee.

  18. Your post reminded me of a Dr. Seuss book ‘I can read with my Eyes shut’ LOL.
Looks like you had fun in Disneyland!
Hope you are having a great weekend in SLC. Wish I was there.

  19. I knew I could come here this morning and find something fun to get my day started on the right foot!
