how cute is my new …

timer. I’m sharing her with you today as a reminder that TIME is running out for those of you who have been sitting on the fence about Library of Memories. Registration closes tomorrow — and I just really think you should go for it.
You will never have more time than you do right now … and now is definitely the time to take charge of your scrapbooking and decide to become both more authentic and more productive. Even with just a few hours a week you can begin to adapt this very flexible system to your life, photos and space … for all the time and money you’ve already invested in this great hobby of ours … you deserve this class. (ok, that’s pretty much the best sales pitch I can come up with!)

Timer

I picked up my new adorable friend at Paper Source in Georgetown this weekend.
I wasn’t able to find an exact link to her, but I have included links to two other goodies below. And might I just say what an amazing store — everyone was raving about it and now I know why.

I got me one of these riveted suitcases … in lime green (of course)

and this philosophy mug (just couldn’t resist)

Had a simply marvelous time at ScrapBowl — only wish I could have hung out with the other teachers a bit more — such a line up of talent. Thanks so much to Marirosa and Ashli, who did an excellent job pulling it all together (we even had a very cool "private" tour of the capital building.) — WOW.

I’ve heard from many that took my Finish Line class — this class takes a huge leap of faith and turns it into a finished album and I was able to teach it five times (to over 150 students) I’ve heard from many of you and want you all to know how totally proud I am that you hung in there and  pushed past some serious obstacles  … Thank YOU for your trust.

New_loveland_line_ptype

and one last Thank YOU to Scenic Route Paper — man I love this stuff. We used the Loveland line this weekend  — it is just so "useable" and they have been so generous in their support. You can see the whole line here.

ok, back to bed for sickie me!

  1. cute timer–does it talk to you?
fill up that new mug with some chamomile tea and get better! b/c i’m all set for class!

  2. Stacy,
I completed my Finish Line album when I got home on Sunday (and emailed Scenic Route & American Crafts, too). I am thrilled with the results. Stacy, thanks for all that you do to encourage us as scrappers, to not be so output focused, but to look at our life, be grateful for it, and SCRAP it.I needed to be stretched, and Finish Line helped do that.
I am going to have to stop in Paper Source the next time I am in the vicinity of Georgetown.Too cute!

  3. I’m so sorry you’re sick and hope you’re feeling better real soon. That timer is just adorable! So bright and cheerful. Take care.
    Sue

  4. That is the cutest timer I’ve ever seen. But I hope you don’t use it much until you feel better! Sending get well wishes your way, and like alison, I’m ready and super excited for LOM to start!!!!

  5. I would love to take the LOM class but money is really tight right now. Hope that I can take it next year if you are still offering it. Thanks! Hope you are feeling better!

  6. I took your class this weekend and I totally loved it – my album is spread out on my table just waiting for embellishments
what a fantastic method for getting stuff done, I will be doing more of these albums in the future
off to check out the LOM class

  7. I’d like to chime-in and say how much I enjoyed your class too. I dedicated mine to GALS & THEIR HOBBIES. I have so many photos from various moments scrapbooking with my girlfriends that it only seemed appropriate to create an album.
And in speaking with Marirosa today, she read your Photo Freedom book in its entirety last night and is ready to convert to the Library of Memories system. You’ve made a believer of me in this system and now my friends are too.
I hope to gain more inspiration from you in person someday soon. In the meantime, BPS has been providing the inspiration I crave.
    Jeanette :)

  8. Loved the Finish Line class, the Glimpses reception, and your keynote! Seriously, it was a very empowering weekend for my mom and I. We really enjoyed meeting you and soaking in your thinking regarding scrapbooking as a lifestyle. I did come home and finish my Finish Line album of my 40th birthday. I would never have done one unless it was for this class, so I am thrilled to have a special little album of a very wonderful milestone. I devoured Photo Freedom, and say, “BRAVO!” It is fabulous, and I know it will be a huge help as I continue trying to make progress on my own Library of Memories system. Thanks SO much for all the inspiration.

  9. love you and love your philosophy….I just can’t afford the class.
scrapbooking has really changed for me in the last few months….sadly so but it just has. It doesn’t consume me like it did and that really bums me out. But….it is what it is for now and I need to accept it.
    good luck with it!

  10. Speaking of philosophy mugs…i got this mug at Pier1, and thought of you! go to my blog (scroll down til you find the pic of it)www.laceyanderson.blogspot.com (it even has your fav color!! lol)- can’t wait to get your book in the mail and get going on your class too! Get better soon!! :)

  11. LOM is SO worth it…did you tell everyone you get to re-enroll the next year as alumni…to continue developing your own system! So it is TOTALLY worth the $$! If you’re trying to decide everyone….I say GO fOR it!!!

  12. Thanks for answering my e-mail about LOM and it convinced me to just go and sign up. So I did. I am so excited!

    Stacy,
I really enjoyed your class and finished my album that weekend. I need to take pictures to share. I’m part of a group of ladies that mets together every month and I am going to share the finish line album with them and hope they enjoy it just as much as I did.
    Thank you! Jennie

  14. I too was at ScrapBowl this past weekend, and came home very inspired, from your Glimpses reception, to the Keynote, and then Finish Line, my mind was just bursting with ideas and new ways to look at things!
I was hoping maybe you could post the title and author of the book “5″ that you mentioned in your keynote. I’d love to get my hands on it!
Thanks for all you do, for others, and for the industry as a whole!

  15. I absolutely enjoyed taking the Finish Line class with you. I did something similar on my own before but now I am more confident that I am on the right track doing what is right for me. Thank you for sharing your ideas in the inspiring keynote speech. This is so true! Looking forward to LOM 2008.

All right, I will step up to the plate and give my sales pitch on LOM…It is the BEST thing you can do for yourself and for your scrapbooking. It is not just a photo organization class, it really is a class on getting back to the reasons you started scrapbooking in the first place. Stacy walks you through this process step by step (virtually holding your hand) and is there when you need her. It is a process which can be adapted to fit everyone’s own style and methods. You don’t have to do everything her way (but believe me, she has put ALOT of research and time and is constantly tweaking her system). She is personable, approachable, and certainly true and I can say (even though I hold her high on a pedestal) she is no different than you and I. With her system, you can enjoy the freedom of scrapping whatever and whenever you want too because it is soooo easy to find the photos that you want. Taking a class or crop and need pictures of each person in your family doing something they love, you know just where to look for that perfect photo because you have taken the time to organize them in a way that will work for you. No more digging through those envelopes looking for the right picture. No more feeling guilty because you are “not caught up”. It truly is an excellent class but you need to GIVE yourself the TIME to DO IT NOW!! Okay, I’ll jump off my soapbox now. Thanks Stacy I can’t wait to revisit LOM and get my system finialized.

  17. That timer is darling!
    Feel better soon.

  18. Stacy,
thank you for saying ‘yes’ to come to our event. It was great to have you, Chase and Paula here. With all our craziness didn’t stop to even peek into Finish Line but over the last few days curled up on the couch reading Photo Freedom…. and making changes…. thank you.
    Many hugs, Marirosa

  19. Stacy,
I just want to say thanks. You don’t know me, but I was in last year’s LOM, and I took your Finish Line class this weekend. Before that, I read Simple Scrapbooks and The Big Picture. I’ve been scrapping for 14 years, and like many, I started out when the only product out there was Creative Memories. For me, it’s always been about the story, and lately, it’s also been about the artistic expression. I was struggling a few years ago – not making many pages, not capturing memories, not telling the stories. I was just sort of lost. Then I found The Big Picture and took LOM. I had an epiphany (or two or five) and reorganized my photos, my supplies and my way of thinking. You got me back to the reason why I started scrapping in the first place. When I look at the pages I’ve completed since finishing LOM, I am proud of myself and grateful to you. Without your philosophy, books and classes, I would still be floundering. It’s not an exaggeration to say you’ve changed my life. Then this weekend, I took Finish Line. You’ve given me another tool in my scrapping arsenal, something other than mashed potatoes, if you will. ;-) I’ve finished that album, and I’ve thought of two other events that will be perfect for the Finish Line method. Stacy, thank you. This weekend was great fun, and it’s so wonderful to be in a class with a teacher who’s eloquent, funny and engaged with the students and who “gets it.” Once again you’ve changed my life. I wonder if you really know the impact you’re having. It’s huge. Or should I say, it’s BIG? Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I am dying to get my pre-ordered Freedom book that you wrote. Do you know when they will ship them out?

  21. Stacy,
I have way too much on my plate to be able to commit to the LOM class (plus as a budget minded SAHM, I just can’t afford it) but I am thrilled that you’ve written that Photo Freedom book and I’m going to order it tonight. I had let my subscription to SS lapse because I just have not been inspired to do any scrapbooking. My pictures and memorabilia have turned into a cluttered mess, which I have felt too overwhelmed to organize. Well, not only do I totally miss not getting SS in the mail, but my word of the year is “declutter” and I am determined to get photos and memorabilia organized. (These important things should not even fall into the “clutter” category, should they? What a shame!) Anyway, I sent in my renewal card for SS last week and knowing that I can use your Photo Freedom method to get my photos in order gives me renewed inspiration. Thank you so much for writing that book for those of us who for whatever reason are not able to take your LOM class. All the best!
    Stacy :-)

  22. Also wondering when the pre-orders of your book will ship…
    can’t wait.

  26. it is really cute and happy looking :) hope you feel better soon. it was nice to meet you at cha. :)

  27. Stacey, did you know there’s a Paper Source in Bellevue? I stopped in last time we were visiting Seattle and I was so overwhelmed by the choices I left without buying anything, and now I totally regret that :) But now you know there’s one a little closer to your neck of the woods!

  28. I read your reminder about the LOM a day too late :( Arrghh!!! I’ll make do with the book when it arrives :-)

  29. Hope you feel better soon. Love your blog.

  30. I really enjoyed your Finish Line class last weekend, and I *love* that paper! (Thanks Scenic Route!). I have finished my album, and my daughter LOVES it.
I have registered for LOM, and I am really excited to make some changes to generate some renewed interest in scrapping!

  31. I also took Finish Line Scrapbooking last weekend at ScrapBowl. It was fantastic! Soon after I got home, I finished embellishing my mini-album with my black accents. I LOVE the way it turned out! I have flipped through the album at least 20 times in the past week, and I still can’t get over how easy it was and how fantastic it turned out. I will definitely be using this method more frequently to do theme albums. I can’t wait to take LOM. Only a few more days! I already read Photo Freedom and have begun re-thinking my photo and scrpabook page organization. Thanks for creating classes and books like this!

  32. LOve that line!! Scenic Route is so much fun! I look forward to taking the LOM class. I was lucky enough to have won a spot through the get a LOAD of this challenge!! THanks!

  33. did you recently change the quote on your blog? What was the one you had previously?
