good snacks and inspiration …

I’m snacking on this today, while I grab fifteen minutes here and there to work on projects.
Have you tried this stuff yet? I was already a huge Teddy Graham fan and know I’m done for sure!
There are two different kinds and I (of course) bought both on a recent trip to Target. I put one box downstairs in my studio and I think I’ll have to continue to do so!

and … just in case you haven’t visited the BPS color and quote page in a while (did you know there was a color and quote page — if not, click here) I’ve wanted to give a shout out to Dani Frederick for a LONG time. I compiled the photos and color information the first year our website was live and then realized that I needed HELP! Dani offered, took over and has done an absolutely FANTASTIC job with this. Each week when the color inspiration changes, I’m just amazed and delighted.

so, Thank YOU Dani!

I also want to thank my friends at Compendium (especially Tote and Kobi) for providing us with the daily quotes! A student on the Library of Memories message board asked about quotes today — so, I thought I’d better blog about color and quotes and make sure you know how much I appreciate the people that have helped me create what I could not find.

and yes, both the quotes and the color combinations are archived at Big Picture Scrapbooking, so you can go there anytime and most definitely find something to inspire YOU.

My all time favorite collection of quote books is called The Good Life

and all 14 single topic books sit on a shelf right in front of me, next to my computer — literally within reach at all times.

I actually just added an "inspiration" category to my Amazon book store. You can find it anytime, by clicking on the "my best books" link to the right.

Why don’t you share a favorite inspiration source or two, in the comments section!

  1. Hi Stacy – Totally off the subject of today’s post: I made the banana brownies for my family this afternoon….MMM! A bit hit!! Also – could you share the playlist you used during the Finish Line Class at CropBowl? I loved it!! Thanks for sharing!
Have a great rest of the weekend

  2. Oh – Inspiration – missed that part of your post – you mean other than the banana brownies? LOL!
“This I Believe” – The Personal Philosophies of Remarkable Men and Women – Compiled by Jay Allison an Dan Gediman.

  3. Hi Stacy! I’ve wanted to share with you a wonderful childrens book publisher from a great local company in Cambridge, MA called Barefoot Books. Started by two moms many years ago, they sell beautiful and colorful books! All three of my kids have loved and continue to love the Bear books by Stealla Blackstone, beautifully illustrated by Debbie Harter—so colorful! Bear About Town, Bear in a Square, Bear on a Bike. Addie (and you!) would love them! I also highly recommend Animal Boogie (with CD) too. The website is!
Since I always get great tips from you, I hope this is a new tip for you! LOL! Thanks for all you share with us!

The Color and Quote Inspiration at BPS has been a huge inspiration to me. Thank you Stacy and Dani! I pop in about once a week to see the new color. Today I stopped by, and the quote really hit me:
It is when we forget ourselves that we do things that are most likely to be remembered.
    ― Parker Sweetwater
I just love that! So thank you so much!

  5. I can second the “Bear About Town” recommendation…they really are lovely books!
I find myself inspired by different things. Right now, I’m loving all kinds of music by Kathy Mattea. If you haven’t listened to her stuff, you should give it a whirl! I especially like her older “Time Passes By” CD.
I also re-read “Simplify Your Life” by Elaine St. James every now and again.
More paper/card/color inspiration at Love her stuff!
    Thanks for everything!

  6. The book “The Wednesday Letters” by Jason F. Wright, it’s a fiction novel about a man that wrote letters to his wife every Wednesday. So sweet :)
B&B’s are my favorite thing write now…and I’m not sure what about them is so inspiring, but I love the idea about a B&B :)

  7. Thanks for the ideas and thanks to the other blog posters for their ideas, as well. Lots of good stuff to think about.

I just purchased 2 of the Quote, Unquote books (Vol 1 & Vol 2) and have found many neat quotes in them. I also find great quotes as I browse catalogs. There are great sayings on plaques, pillows, t-shirts, etc in many catalogs. I often rip them out & sandwich them between the pages of my quote notebook until I can write them in & get rid of the small papers.

  9. Oooh that looks yummy!

For years I have torn out the “Quotable Quotes” page of the Reader’s Digest and filed them in a binder I have designated for quotes. I also have two little books The Wit and Wisdom of Benjamin Franklin and The Wit and Wisdom of Winston Churchill that provide much insight. And of course the book of Proverbs in the Holy Bible!
