Here in Calgary (now finished!)

connecting with retailers (thank goodness for local scrapbook store owners) and learning and exchanging ideas and brainstorming solutions and really enjoying myself. Nancy and Stephanie are here from FISKARS and Layle from Scenic Route and so many more. Got to do a 2 minute spot with Allison Orthner on local City TV (never quite get those right — oh well!)

After my first class, I was browsing the display tables and chatting with Layle. She told me about taking a fabulous class online with Shimelle and being inspired to create these NEW extremely cool, covered chipboard albums (read all about it here) Anyway, I’m in love. Talk about easy! Simple is working on a special issue "Mini Albums in an Evening" and this album will be featured — because I’m pretty sure you could really create something quite cool in one sitting.

On a bit of a whim, I decided to spend the afternoon with George (Fiskars Craft in Canada) and Nancy and Stephanie — we headed to Banff to take in some quick sites and just explore a little. It’s so refreshing, when I can return home from a venue and talk of seeing something beyond the hotel lobby …

  11. It was such a pleasure to meet you in Calgary this past weekend, Stacy. You are a total inspiration to this industry, the whole process of scrapbooking our lives and to me as well. I came home inspired by your “be yourself” attitude about life (I truly believe that as well). I came home totally refreshed and thinking that I don’t want to be anyone else but my true self in this industry. I don’t want to have to pretend I’m someone else to “get somewhere”. Heck …. I’ve made it onto Crop and Cruise being myself — why not go all the way that way!!! Thank you, Stacy, for just being you (with your mismatched socks and all) — LOVE THAT!!!!

Mostly, I enjoyed your inspirational message about this industry… much perspective that I hope to bring into my own talks as well to other scrapbookers… scrapbook your heart!!
