Checking in and Heading out …

Off to Valley Forge this morning and for the first-time ever, I was completely packed YESTERDAY. I couldn't sleep and so now I have time to blog!  I'm meeting up with my mom in Seattle and bringing her along — I am looking so forward to seeing friends, students–everyone! This is my official summer vacation and I'm so READY (I've always wanted to rent a FUN car and never have … so stay tuned!)

So, on my blog agenda for today …

ONE. I'm hanging out with Elizabeth Dillow this weekend, who will be teaching some Simple classes at the convention. Please check out her NEW Red Letter Days workshop at BPS–four weeks of inspiring projects and expert guidance built around her awesome Scrapbooker's Almanac book!

TWO. There is a GLIMPSES Reception in Valley Forge. It will be held on Thursday evening at 8:00pm. As far as I can tell, from my convention schedule it will be held in the Franklin room at the Radisson hotel. I'll try and post a confirmation of this when I arrive (but you can always ask at the CKMedia information booth) As a reminder, anyone who has taken my Glimpses class is welcome. Just bring the ticket you received in class and YOUR Glimpses album (or at least your thoughts and ideas to share.) I LOVE this opportunity to connect with BPS students at various events. We always have LOTS of fun.

THREE. It's time for SS Summer Gallery Challenge #6 (are we on six already?)
Here's mine …

While you're at it why don't you silhouette a photo too. I gave a similar challenge to my Have More FUN class and there were some great results — obviously not something you'd want to do to the only copy of grandmother's wedding photo, but in my opinion, Halloween pics scream for playful, FUN execution.
materials black(not brown) pattern paper by Lasting Impressions + striped paper by KI Memories + glitter paper by Doodlebug + lots of chipboard letters from my drawers. I did throw it two of the brand NEW artsylicious sticker letters by Chatterbox.

Can't wait to see your pages in the SS Gallery!

Speaking of Chatterbox, they have a NEW blog. I adore this company and I'm thrilled to see them back on their feet and thriving!

FOUR. I neglected to pick ONE more winner to receive the other FUN book from Clear Scraps. The WINNER is Jessica C. Email me Jessica and put FUN Book WINNER in the subject line.

LEARN would definitely be my word. It is my "one little word" for 2008, and making that decision has changed my life in SO many ways! It would be really cool to have a concrete way to remember all the positive changes that making a choice can bring!

I love Jessica's comment and couldn't agree more. My WORD for 2008 (thanks for the challenge Ali) has been life-changing for me too.

FIVE. Still have LOTS of cool CHA finds to share with you, like this one …

way cool 3D Countdown Calendar from Karen Foster Design. I can't wait to decorate this with my bright and happy Christmas palette and use it as an advent activity.

  1. I’m looking forward to meeting you at the convention. I’ll be in your Finish Line & Photo Freedom classes — can’t wait!!

  2. Thanks for the ideas, as always. The silhouette idea for a Halloween page is great, as Halloween pics always seem to have the lamest dark backgrounds! I’ll have to try it this year.

  3. I love that countdown calendar. I may try to get my hands on it for an advent calendar too!

  4. The countdown calendar is fabulous! I have to get my hands on one…
    I posted some Halloween pages on my blog… {I didn’t do the silhouette idea because I am also in your BPS Have Fun class and didn’t want them to look too similar… }

  5. Oh, I love that little drawer calender! There are so many things you could do with that!

  6. I love you Stacy!!! I’ve been searching online high and low for the past few days for something to create my own advent calendar, and you’ve found it for me… Thank You!!!

  7. I’d love to hang out with elizabeth Dillow so go and enjoy! I love that little 30 box thingy. It would be perfect for an advent calendar or any other ‘countdown’ project.

  8. What are the demensions of this cute little thing!!

  9. love the countdown calendar. MM had a kit out last year and I made it for my girl – added my own spin on it of course.. it was a huge hit. have fun in VF… too bad i will miss it.. and you’re only a drive away!

  10. Meredith says:

Thanks for sharing all the new ideas with us! Would you mind sharing where you purchased the beautiful lazy susan that is on your dining room table? I would love to find something similar. (I looked at your recent pictures of your family on your blog and saw it). Thanks again for all your inspiration!

  11. Michelle Salazar says:

Love the coutndown calender how cool!
