Two more things

to be grateful for …

I. My mom and dad now have DSL. This means I can stay "connected" and post to my blog from their dining room table. This also means I could come here this summer and hang out with my kids and still "work" — splendid!

2. The absolute beauty of nature. Look what I woke up to this morning …

15 white swans on the lake. Dad says sometimes there are 200! I just stood there with my camera enjoying the pitter-patter of rain on already soaked ground — wishing I had brought my big zoom lens — I finally took a deep breath, let go of that and realized that this moment isn't about the picture anyway.

I'm now posting to my blog and enjoying the smell of breakfast (eggs and bacon.) We're all headed downtown Seattle to welcome in the Christmas season …

Life is good.

  1. Ahhh…both very good things to be grateful for. I am grateful for your blog and for BPS. It has helped me so much. Seriously. I love (and miss) Seattle…have an awesome time!

  2. I want to be headed to downtown Seattle too – walk through the market and have some clams at Elliot’s too. Sigh.

  3. I think that realizing some moments aren’t about the photograph is a wise thing, and it’s also a HARD thing for those of us attached to our Canons! (or whatever brand you use.)
Gorgeous landscape. Hope your day was equally wonderful!

  4. We had snow in Spokane!! Visiting my husband’s mom and dad, spent some time at the Carousel at Riverfront park. Battery to camera died on way, so just enjoyed the moment and seeing my daughter’s face beam as she grabbed a ring!! I even rode on the carousel a time or two.

  5. Waking up to such a view looks great! Another Thanksgiving blessing to be grateful for.

  6. Hey Stacy….are you going to do the countdown to Christmas with all the cool gifts again?? Please?
