Friday FIVE (cool stuff) October 9th

My first pick today is actually three. Three really cool Compendium gifts for women that have fought or are fighting breast cancer.

A box of little openings, full of  Hope. ($5.95)

A little book, called Hope. ($6.95)

And finally, the Hope Every Day journal. ($9.95)

chalkboard candle

How super-cool is this? It’s a soy candle in a chalkboard cup. Add this to your really cool girlfriends gifts for Christmas, or just buy three for Halloween right NOW (imagine the letters B-O-O written on them.)

Here’s the link at

I was catching up with Heidi Swapp on her blog and was amazed at all the cool ideas she has shared using this House of 3 Heart Shadow Box. This little box has serious gift-giving potential. If you haven’t seen it yet, please go scroll through the last several posts on Heidi’s blog — betcha you’re going to want one, and you can get it here (

p.s. my favorite is the one with the candy corn in it!

(just coudn’t do pink with this one.)

Bo Bunny buttons & bling

I’m loving this not-so-scary mix of buttons, bling and google eyes, from Bo Bunny. Very enticing indeed. If you need to get some, go here.

idea paint @ home

My friend Molly sent me a link to IdeaPaint (dry-erase paint for work, school and HOME) I did one of those squeal out loud things as soon as I hit the site.  I’m thinking this is my super-fun solution for the wall right at the bottom of my stairs. Now I just need to get Geoff on board.

No school in Spokane today.
I think we’ll bake some cookies and go get some pumpkins.
Enjoy your weekend!

  1. I couple of pictures are missing :o(

    • Juel,

All the pictures are loading for me — but a few are slower than the others. I apparently need to work on getting my image sizes just right. Thanks for the heads up.

  2. Have a great weekend and have fun making cookies! Thanks for sharing your Friday Five!

  3. I need that paint too!!!!!!!!
    Great stuff, thank you Stacy

  4. I need that paint too!!!!!!!!
    Great stuff, thank you Stacy

  5. I was at Lowe’s the other day and saw that they had something just like that. Right now I have bought 3 pieces of 12-inchx18-inch steel sheet metal ($5 a piece at Lowe’s) and some wood molding to frame them out. Then I am spray painting them with the black chalkboard paint and am going to hang it on a wall in my kitchen.

We are also going to cover our front door in the black chalkboard paint so we can draw on it for holidays or whenever (using the Cricut shapes as a stencil) or write “Welcome ______Family” when friends are coming over. I’ll put some pictures out when it is done.

  6. I love the Compendium website. It’s very amazing! And I get their weekly quote emailed to me! Right now where I live it is about -6 degrees and we have a couple of inches of snow on the ground. It is supposed to be very cold all weekend (which is Thanksgiving holiday weekend here), so I’m thinking that right now I will make a cup of tea and curl up on a comfy chair with your Photo Freedom book, Stacy! I am in serious need of some photo organization! Thanks for the great new website, too! Love it!

  7. Molly McCarthy says:

Stacy – Thank you for your Friday Five. I’ve been trying to think what to send a dear friend who is battling cancer. The Compendium “Hope” products are perfect. Since I can’t be with her I can at least send her a bit of hope.

  8. A good friend says:

Stacy – do I have to leave my name? I am just not really ready to share this entire story yet….suffice it to say that I have a dear, dear aunt who died in January from recurrent breast cancer – she thought she had it licked and then it came back with a vengeance. I also have another dear, dear aunt who died several years ago from breast cancer, and another aunt who is currently diagnosed with breast cancer. I participated in the Breast Cancer 3 -Day walk ( 60 miles) last year and I can honestly say that it was a life changing event for me. I am so grateful to be alive, to have friends and family who believe in miracles and have the faith to pray every day for them, because we KNOW that they can and do occur in today’s world.

    • You never have to leave your name, but thank you for sharing your story and your insights — I couldn’t agree more!

  9. Love that (I just bought my size a small peel and stick dry erase board for his wall) (hoping to blog about it myself in the next couple of days)
and who needs Geoff’s approval… just do it one day while he is at work LOL

    good luck!
