My favorite sound might not be something that you would consider. However, it gives me comfort and peace. The sound I am referring to would be that of the front door opening at 3:00 p.m. That would mean that my daughters are home from school and no one is after for play practice, work or other club meetings. It means that my family is home for dinner all together. It brings such joy. I love that sound and what the sound means.
I love the sound of rain falling. To me, it bring peace and a feeling of cleansing. There’s an excitement of newness and freshness in the air. It’s so calming.
I’ve never posted a comment – so hope this works – this is one of my favorite questions when I’m at a dinner party with my husband’s work people. I love the sound of my son opening the door when he comes home – now that he’s 16 and driving, I live for that sound. Other favorite answers have been the sound of the spoon cracking the top of creme brulee and one man answered the phrase ‘are you ready for some football’ was his favorite sound!!
I live in the middle of everywhere but it takes an hour to get anywhere! (I live in Desert Aire, WA – 1/2 way between Spokane and Seattle on the Columbia River.)

The ocean is my favorite water sound, it brings me incredible peace, and fond memories of family reunions, with cousins.
I love the sound of a dog dreaming. Such peace and happiness in their woofs in sleep.
