Q+A (where to find photo albums)

Tuesdays are busy. I like Tuesdays — I generally feel productive and I get to connect with BPS teachers (which I love.) But … if I don’t have a blog post written, it seems to move farther and father down my daily list of things to do. My plan is to use Tuesdays to do either a Q+A or Talk 2 Me.

To avoid NOT posting at all today, here’s a quickie Q+A

Q: I have been looking high and low for a 2 up album to use for scrapbooking. All the ones I am finding have the journaling strip down the side. My friend and I have searched almost every store in our town. I saw your green Puerto Rico scrapbook — where do you find the books you use?
Thank you very much (Beth )

A: The album I used for my Puerto Rico album is definitely a favorite of mine.

It comes it LOTS of colors. Here’s the link at Scrapbook.com

Otherwise, I just keep my eyes open when I shop Target, Walmart, Walgreens or discount stores like Kohls, Ross and TJ Maxx.

Just yesterday morning, I had a list of things to get at Target (primarily some new clothes for Addie, a few new fall shirts for me, some Halloween candy for FHE and my favorite nut mix) I had a 10:00 a.m. meeting and I dropped Addie off at preschool at 9:00. In other words, I shopped fast!

BUT … I ALWAYS make a quick stroll down the photo albums aisle just to see what jumps out at me.

photo albums

Hello? Just about the CUTEST photo albums I’ve ever seen. These are filled with white pages — no journaling strips, no stupid lines, no extra spaces — just pure unadulterated photo sleeves waiting to be altered by me.

So .. IF you have access to a Target, please go purchase a one-up and a two-up.  We (me + blog readers who want to) are going to be doing something FUN with both of these very soon.

I can’t wait.

  1. I LOVE photo album scrapbooking. There are many cute photo albums out there (definately better without the journaling strip). I’ve been doing these for a long time. Sometimes I embellish alot or sometimes just 4×6 pictures and 4×6 journaling cards. I need to do one about the Build-a-Bear experiences my girls have had this past year.

  2. I am currently making a 2-up album, as inspired by your posts. My album does have a journalling strip in the spine, I couldn’t find anything without one (I am in the UK,so can’t go to Target :( ). I can’t decide if I should cover the journalling strip with patterned paper, or just journal on it. I am leaning towards journalling, and using the 4×6 areas for photos and embellishments.

    • Bev,

I’ve done both (with journaling strips) If they don’t ‘bug’ you too much, then use them to journal for sure — and then, as you said, add some decorative touches and pattern paper to a portion of the photo sleeves.

  3. OOOOOOOOOOoooooo, I picked up two of the green ones a week or so ago!! Do I need a pink one too?

    • Hey Juel,
No specific colors required. If you have one you’re good to go. I’ll be sharing a one-up idea and a two-up idea.

      happy day,

  4. Sounds interesting! : )

I love this gurgle sound! It brings a smile to my face just like those little sounds that babies make in church.

  6. I just completed a 2up album for a day hike we did where we apparently were very inspired by the landscape because we took so many beautiful pictures I just had to preserve a ton of them. The album ended up amazing…I ended up with some awesome journaling and story telling. I have done one of these albums before, but this last album made me really fall in love with photo album scrapbooking!

I just have to laugh…I skipped your blog yesterday so I could go to Target! Who knew I needed to look here to know what I needed to get there? :)

  8. Okay, this relative newbie doesn’t know what one-up/two-up means??? Two photos per page?

  9. I have to laugh as I saw these albums at Target on Sunday and thought wow Stacy Julian will love these!

  10. Monika Wright says:

I did an “All About Me” album (purchased at Big Lots and not nearly as cute as Targets, but it turned out cute after-the-fact) when I realized that I’m not in any of the photos. It was really about me turning 45 and I wanted to document who I was/am at this point. I think it will be funny for my 3 kids to read years from now and see that Mom was just a regular, kooky person just like them.

I will probably have to go out and get some albums because it was just SO much fun!

  11. I picked mine up today! Love those colors…I may end up going back to get more!

  12. Ok, I’m ready! My friend was nice enough to pick these up for me, we don’t have a Target here in Pullman. I convinced her to pick up a set for herself too! Bring on the craftiness! :)
