24 Days ’til Christmas.

and I’ve got my LISTS started!

This year my list book is super simple. I used a cool spiral bound notebook from Creative Escape (two years ago?) The cover is this paper from Imaginisce. The inside covers are this paper.

I used American Crafts Thickers on top.

I counted out and divided up the inside pages based on how many  pieces I thought I would need for each section (gifts, advent, parties and plans and other) and trimmed the top piece of each section from short to long. I then adhered a strip of pattern paper and attached two metal-rimmed circle tags back to back over the edge. I folded up the last piece of paper in the notebook to make an envelope for storing gift cards (teachers, etc..)

This is my daily advent list that has already seen changes.

I glued a coin envelope to the back inside cover for receipts.
Nothing too fancy, but it’s functional and it’s making me happy already!

  1. WAY CUTE! Let the Merry Making begin!

  2. I love lists. I love books. I would love a list book all my own. HOWEVER, my husband will never stop making fun of me if I have a lists book, Stacy. Any thoughts on how to avoid this? I love his teasing but I’m a bit fragile this year, so I’m trying to be proactive for my own sake ;) ha. Heidi

    • I say let him laugh. If it makes you happy (and mine makes me happy) then I need to take the teasing that I get from a husband and FOUR boys — although Tafty is totally on board with me.

I understand the fragile though — how about a really sincere request that he not tease so much. You need to feel safe with your husband!

      • Thanks so much for replying, Stacy. I think I will have a list book since it would definitely make me very very happy :) This is my most fave time of the year.
Your last sentence really says it all, doesn’t it? And I’ll hope I am safe there soon. I definitely would not have described myself as fragile ever in the past so writing that is sort of some ephiphany I think!! Now off to stop the boys from jumping on the bed upstairs. And did I mention how jealous I am of you having 4 boys??? I would love 4 boys but in the meantime, I’ll take the 2 sweeties we have ;)
Ditto to the post below :)

  3. that is so cute!!! what a great idea! & a great book!! AND i totally wish i had done a list book BEFORE the first of december!! LOL!!! hmmm, maybe i can still get one done — we will see :) well, regardless of my rambling!!!! LOL!!! YOUR list book is adorable & obviously instantly inspired me!!! thank u for that!!!
take care! have a great night! :)

  4. I love this. My favorite part – the receipt envelope at the end. That’s so smart!!! I’m constantly looking for receipts after the holidays. You’re brilliant!

  5. That is so adorable! I admit, I like lists too. But my Christmas shopping list is in Excel, listing the person, the gift idea, the store to purchase it at, and it’s purchased status. I also have it calculating what percentage of DONE I am. It’s my weird organizational side meeting my weird programmer training.

  6. Adorable! :)

  7. Love this list book idea. I made one for last year and will make another (love this year’s version Stacy!) tonight for this year.

  8. This is one of my most visited sites. Excellent job moderating. And very insightful articles. Rarely does a website keep me coming back. I hope everyone enjoys the holidays.
