Happy “Day Before” National-Scrapbook-Day

I was going to post a Friday Five today, but I didn’t get it done ahead of time and I’m having too much fun with my mom, aunt Shirley, Darci, Kristin and Hillary. It’s our annual girls weekend that we haven’t had for four years (ha!) We are super excited. The only problem is that we’ve had such pretty weather in Spokane and now for the three days that everyone is here it’s going to be cloudy and rainy. Bummer!

But, here’s something fun. I am the guest blogger on the Creating Keepsakes blog today. All week long they’ve been hosting the CK’s Countdown to National Scrapbook Day and get to help!

Head on over (click HERE) and I’ll share my new favorite thing to do (create a scrapbook page and a half.)

Have a wonderful weekend. I’ll be back Monday!

This has nothing to do with today’s post. Just a little something to share. Many years ago you had a page published that talked about how life would be different when your boys were older. At the end you told them to go pick-up their socks. At the time I only had one daughter and no sock trouble. But now, my second daughter always leaves her socks out. And every time I tell her to pick them up, I think of your page and try to remember that all too soon she’ll pick them up on her own and I will miss her being little. Thanks for making realize that the little stuff is the big picture. Looking forward to hearing you at Inspired!

    • Ohh, thank you Annette for remembering that page! You made my day. Thanks too for reading my blog.

  2. I saw you l/o on the ck blog———love it–especially the dot circle–thanks for sowing us how you created that!

  3. Great post Stacy! I use the 6×12 pages, but for smaller layouts. This is a great way to have journaling but not have it hidden. Have fun with your family ladies weekend!! I guess if it’s raining you’ll have to stay inside and be crafty.

  4. What a great idea (as always!). I always make my pages and then try to figure out where to squeeze the journaling in. I know it’s important, but sometimes it’s hard to find the “right” spot.

  5. This idea is BRILLIANT! I too have used these 6×12 for mini layouts, but I love the idea of using the to add the journing to a larger layout. Quite often I create a layout I love and realize I don’t have room to tell the story, you just soved that for me! Thanks!

ENJOY your girls weekend. I LOVE being with my family. Was just talking with my sister the other day how we should do a girl weekend with our other sisters & our mom. What kinds of things do you girls do?

  7. Hope you enjoy your visit. I just returned from a way too short visit with an aunt who shared old family photos with me while I shared some genealogy I have been working on. My mom recently died and my dad died over 20 years ago so she is the last one who can help identify people. Oh – I love your new family chore and pay plan. We did something similar when our girls were younger and it worked very well.

  8. You did post your Friday Five! Your mom, aunt Shirley, Darci, Kristin and Hillary. :)

    • How clever are you? Wish I would have thought of that — we had such a delightful time too! Thanks for your comment.

  9. Happy National Scrapbook month!! Who needs an excuse to scrapbook everyday!! Love this hobby! Love you! thanks for all that you do!
