An update + exciting news!

There are multiple reasons I’ve not been around much lately.

ONE.

I have FIVE very busy children and it’s September. This means I’ve spent what could collectively be hours honing my already adept skills at populating annoying forms that all FIVE children bring home from school. We’re also incredibly busy transitioning to our “new normal” which requires lots of scheduling and organization.

TWO.

On the health front, I am feeling much, much better BUT I’m still not 100% and therefore things like blogging easily fall off my trying-to-be-more-realistic list of things to do.

THREE.

For the first time in nearly eight years, I do not have a full-time nanny. Before you sarcastically say, “Poor Stacy, less help at home …” know that I’m not complaining. In fact, choosing to have only part-time help is part of my road to full recovery. I am intentionally putting in place more realistic limits and boundaries. So, I’m really not complaining, but I am adjusting to less “protected” work time.

FOUR.

I’m taking a good, hard look at my priorities and thinking a LOT about what I really want to be doing with my discretionary time at this point in my life. I love blogging, so I’ll be back, but I’m not in a hurry.

FIVE.

By far, the most exciting reason is that Kayce and I (mostly Kayce with me tagging along for moral support) have been working on a major update/brand expansion at Big Picture Scrapbooking.

It is now LIVE.

Glad to hear your feeling better. I did check out the BPC last night it looks exciting. Great job to you and Kayce. I was just having the crazy school schedule talk with my sister over the weekend because she is overwhelmed with four kids in sports, school, working, etc…. I only have one in sports, etc… and she wants to do more so i keep pulling her back because my schedule just doesn’t have room for more. Don’t let me forget the three little ones behind her.

  13. Wonderful changes! Way to go, guys. I’ll be promoting BPC even more now! :)

  14. The nanny would be important if I worked at home and had kids at home during the day. I had one during the day when the kids were too young for school and I was working. Later on I became use to having a messy kitchen and laundry everywhere, once the nanny thing ended. You really do have to set your priorities. Today, things are a little better in the house because it’s high school and college now, and their toys are not all over the house. Being patient with our life stages is really the key, I think. Take care of yourself.

  15. Love the new & improved Big Picture Classes. Kayce & yourself did a terrific job! I’m glad you are feeling better. We will be patient and be happy when you do give us little nuggets when you can on your blog. You have given so much. Time for you. Hugs~Debbie P

  16. watched the video and took the tour last night and it looks fantastic!! : )

  17. Missed you – but so glad you’re feeling better! ANd I love seeing you set boundaries – try as we might we really aren’t superwoman – and i think I’ve seen you keep a superwoman schedule for far too long. You seemed to be GREAT at it – but there’s nothing wrong with slowing down a bit.

  18. Stacy,

I’m amazed by what you DO accomplish! I think you are way too hard on yourself. Extend yourself a little GRACE! YOU are creative, strong, intelligent, and hard-working..I see that just through your blog.

    Hugs,
    Amy

  19. It’s good to hear you’re feeling a little better. Here’s hoping you are completely better soon!
