Elizabeth Gilbert @TED

I have not read Eat Pray Love

I haven’t even seen the movie, though it is on my list of movies to see.

But I have watched Elizabeth give her talk on nurturing creativity at TED and I very much believe and support the idea that true creativity and more specifically creative ideas that change things are not born of us, but rather come through us. When we seek to fill our minds with truth and ideas that open our hearts to inspiration, we can be a vessel of brilliance.

The important thing is to foster confidence in our unique gifts and talents as well as trust in this process of receiving, without letting our big, fat heads get in the way.
Something to think about on a Friday.
Fill you mind with some truth and really good ideas this weekend.

  1. This. Was. Fantastic!!! Can’t thank you enough for posting, Stacy! I’ll be watching this several times today as I work. And to you, Stacy … Ole’ for all you do :)

  2. Oh Stacy, I can so recommend the book to you. It is such a page turner and so nurturing for the soul. Really…wholeheartedly have to recommend the book…I simply cannot wait to watch the movie…Will check out her talk on TED soon….Go Stacy!

  3. Thanks for sharing Stacy! Now…off to find my muse and ask can he come out and play so I can get a layout done LOL!

  4. Gail Alcorn says:

Loved this! Stacy — read the book before you see the movie. I think you will enjoy the movie more because you can fill in the blanks.

  5. You are EVIL!

Not sure how I missed the Peachy Cheap post, but seeing the winners I went to see what it was all about…$10 LATER…OMG! ONLY $10! Am I REALLY going to get ALL those alphabet stickers? Can’t wait to see the product and watch for more deals!!!!!

ALSO…have to say, not a huge fan of the Eat, Pray, Love book (I know! I know! Everyone reading this will gasp in horror!), but I’ve seen this TED presentation and she is an incredible speaker. I DID like her “voice” and style of writing, so I’d be game to try another piece of work by her.

  6. Check out this video on motivation and creativity in the workplace. You’ll love the concepts presented here on what motivates people and helps them be creative.

By the way, I’ve been listening to round table podcasts and I love when you’re on the PRT! I hope you’re scheduled to be on again soon!

  7. Thanks for posting! I enjoyed listening. I liked the book but haven’t seen the movie. The only part of the book I didn’t care so much for was the Love portion. I didn’t like the fact that she let a man tell her when she was “ready” after her self discovery. Hope I am not spoiling it for you.

  8. Thanks for sharing this! What a great talk. I will definatly be sharing this with some friends.

  9. Always love your inspirational recommendations. This one too! :)

  10. Super Inspiring Stacy!

  11. I conscionable don´t see movies evolving, For me it´s like the old movies, without the whole application artifact were meliorate. They had .

  12. I have read the book (although it was not one of my faves) –have not seen the movie but want to see it because I love Julia Roberts and I think this in one case that I would enjoy the movie more than the book!

  13. Kary in Colorado says:

I finally had the 20 minutes to watch this this morning and am so glad that I did. Thanks so much for sharing it. As an artist by trade, what she had to say was very moving to me–after Conference this weekend, I’m feeling quite inspired–almost calmed (does that make ANY sense?!!). And I would recommend Eat, Pray, Love–not necessarily the movie, but I quite enjoyed the book (and was very surprised that I did), especially the first two sections.

  14. Have you seen the TED Next Generation talks? So much fun! What bright kids!

  15. I read the book earlier this year after a friend of mine told me I had to read it. I’m really glad that I did. Awesome book and I really enjoyed her writing style. I haven’t seen the movie… don’t know if I want to! (Don’t want to ruin it!)

Off to watch the video. Thanks for sharing!

  16. Thanks for sharing !!! :)
