A perfect holiday.

Yesterday was perfect.
I got up early to put the Turkey in and put this vinyl on my office door — made me happy!

My cousin, Missy and her family arrived late Wednesday night from Seattle. At 9:30, I snapped photos of everyone I could find. Most were eating breakfast.

Trey was watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade.

And Dad and Clark were setting up the puzzle.

This is Missy and Chris, btw.

I couldn’t find Addie or Baily — later learned they were up in the toy room, where Addie was preparing her own feast!

Geoff laid out winter wear for the kids to choose from …

and they were soon outside sledding by the side of our house. I was able to snap photos from the warmth of my laundry room.

Missy and I were working on pies. And yes, I remained unshowered and without make-up all day long!

Missy went to a pie-making demonstration where they cut small leaves as a top crust on an apple pie. I tried it with hearts and HOW CUTE is this?

This is a homemade chocolate cream pie. It was SO YUMMY.

Turkey is done! This btw is when I start freaking out a little. It seems like there are always so many last-minute things to pull together. Luckily I have a patient husband and LOTS of help.

Just as we were sitting down I realized that Addie wouldn’t be joining us. I didn’t have the heart to disturb this slumber!

Everything was warm and delicious.
For some reason I only took a photo of one end of the table. Oh well!
After dinner the tryptophan took effect and I settled in (sans camera) for a long afternoon/evening of napping, movie watching, game playing and talking.
It was a perfect day!

  1. Glad you and yours had a great day. Mine was just as good, minus the lovely snow!

  2. Love that rub-on on your door. Looks like you had a fantastic Thanksgiving.

Living overseas again. First Thanksgiving in Cyprus. We had 3 other families join us for a beautiful Thanksgiving day.

While you had snow, we had sun-shiney 76 degrees. It felt, almost wrong, almost.

    Thanks for sharing.

    T.

  3. Stacy, thanks so much for sharing your Thankgiving with us! ‘So beautiful!! Like Densie, we had a good Thanksgiving, too!

  4. Hi, T., it is nice to meet you!

  5. Your Thanksgiving sounds a lot like ours- even the sleeping child. Although he did wake up in time to eat. Happy Thanksgiving.

  6. Glad you had a great Thanksgiving. It always gets so hectic right at the last minute, no matter how prepared you are. Ok, I new your office would have a great view but ALL THOSE windows?!? So jealous, that would be my #1 priority when building a house – the view, of the sunset, preferably with some water. Anyway happy holidays.

  7. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours! Thanks for sharing snippets of your day with us. May we all remember to count our blessings each and every day.

:- ) Our day was pretty perfect too! My daughter was in NYC IN THE PARADE! Her HS marching band was in the parade and she received lots of tv face time because the saxophones were right up front in the perrformance in front of Macy’s.

  9. So glad for you after your hectic and difficult summer/fall and all those health issues. On to the next holiday!

  10. Looks fabulous! Just what a Thanksgiving should be, IMO! Blessings to you and your family!

  11. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving too. Only 9 of us for dinner this year, but it was nice and cosy. After dinner my son set up pictures to view on the TV and we took a look at pics of my nephews wedding. It was great talking about it and them seeing my pics for the first time! I sure am blessed!

  12. Would love the recipe for the homemade chocolate pie, yummy! Also, I have checked several stores for your Coredinations scrapbooking paper and am unable to locate it. Which stores carry it?

  13. Thanks for sharing your beautiful day and family!

    Blessings…

I really enjoy seeing pictures of big family gatherings. I had a lovely day, too. To top it off, I got happy mail from BPC yesterday! Woo Hoo!!! What a great surprise that was.

  15. Oh, what wonderful pictures! It definately looks like a perfect holiday. No wonder you’re so happy…seeing all that made me happy. Thanks!

  16. I’m so happy to know we aren’t the only family that spends the “after meal” hours just napping and tv watching!

  17. You did so much better than I did on your Thanksgiving photos. I get a big fat F for that this year. Sigh….oh well.

  18. Love the vinyl, and the pie! Looks like a wonderful holiday spent with family.

  19. Oh how I love all the color in your house! Fun! Here in OK it is chilly but no snow yet! ;)

Looks like the perfect day! I love that vinyl…I’m going to copy you!

  22. It does sound like a perfect Thanksgiving! We gathered with about 35 of my relatives for a great meal, a short play by the kids, games, and filling out Library of Memories personal information sheets. It was really interesting to get to know family in a different way! I hope to put these together in a family booklet we can all look at when we get together. We had an early Christmas the next day–fun! Love your door decor!

  23. Glad your holiday was perfect!! Mine gets a do-over. We didn’t take our yearly jaunt to my Aunts house as the weather looked a little iffy. Turns out it was good that we didn’t go – about mid day I got sick and was down for the count. So tomarrow (Sunday) we’re doing a do over and making a Thanksgiving meal at home. Still feeling a little bit under the weather but hoping Sunday is better:)

  24. i love this post, felt like i was at your home. your family is wonderful (and tolerant) letting you take all these pictures & posting them. Enjoy what’s left of the long weekend that’s begins the holiday season.

  25. Glad you enjoyed your day!

  26. Looks like you all had a wonderful time! I also went without shower and makeup ALL DAY! LOL. However… right before we were to sit down for dinner, I jumped in the shower really quickly. I thought hubby would be taking photos. Alas, we didn’t take ONE single photo. Strange since his mother and step-dad drove all the way from Albuquerque. Ah well. We were just enjoying ourselves way too much. :-)

  27. That sounds great!

Hey – have you posted pictures of your new office? I want to see!
Also – thank you, thank you, thank you to both you and Kayce for my Happy Mail! I’ve been down after having shoulder surgery and my BPC goodies cheered me up!
    Love-Jenn

  28. Thanks for sharing. It’s so great to be together with family!

I was reminded about your new office – have you shown us pictures yet? ;)

  29. I am glad your family had such a wonderful day! I just wanted to say thank you for the cookie recipe a few posts back. I made them and they were a huge hit! It is a keeper of a recipe. Thanks!

  30. Great pictures…it looks like it was a wonderful day!
