Today feels like the first day back at work for me, even though I started combing through emails on Friday. I woke up on time and enjoyed my morning routine plus yoga and after a hot shower, I started purging and cleaning and decided to dive into my inbox, where I found this note from Norway …
I received this little card (along with an assortment of blue Bobbie pins) from Siri last summer–I even took a photo last summer.
Anyway, this tells you a bit about the state of my inbox.
Nevermind that, as I read this note again today, I reflected on the joy of being connected. Seriously, how many people can dig through their inbox and find mail from Norway–other than those that live in say, Norway. As overwhelming and never-ending as my life and work are, I am struck now and again by the utter joy of it all.
This miraculous thing we call the Internet is a bit like a modern town square where we come and go and bump into friends new and old. It’s just that that our town is now the world.
Yes, life is crazy.
No, I will never be caught up.
Maybe I will see the bottom of my inbox every six months or so. Maybe not.
It’s all Ok, because life is extremely good and full of opportunities and I am blessed with more than I can do!
And those, my blog-reading friends are my thoughts on this Monday.
p.s. And now, back to the inbox and the strange desire to file things I know I don’t really want to keep.
p.s.s You can bump into Siri on her blog.
