Memorial Day. I almost forgot!

We sent my sister Chanda and her sweet family on their way this morning. We enjoyed a too-short, but FUN visit and we’re so grateful they made the effort to “stop by” on their route home to Arizona.

After they left, Geoff and I headed out to our favorite nurseries.
I’ve spent the remainder of the day, with Addie’s help, planting flowers on my porch.

We’re not quite there yet, but we’re getting close.
I came in to get the dirt out from under my finger nails and to start my salad for the neighborhood BBQ and I remembered that I had a cartoon I have been saving for Memorial Day …

I almost forgot to share it!

I want to publicly thank ALL of the men and women who work daily to defend the freedoms I enjoy.
We are truly blessed as a nation.
Perfect? No.
Blessed? Absolutley.

Thank YOU for the opportunity to gather with my family and our neighbors, to enjoy barbequed steaks, fruit salad and freedom!

  1. Agree totally — how thankful I am for those who protect my freedoms so that I may enjoy an awesome summer weekend with my family!

  2. Looks like a perfect Memorial Day! I’m dying with anticipation for class to start on Thurs. Got the orientation email and am very excited! Can’t wait to experience more freedom!!! =)

How fun to be planting flowers. Thanks for the cartoon reminder.

  4. I bet your daughter loved planting – my girls do! I have to ask – what is the floor of your porch made of – love it!

  5. Love This! Thanks for sharing this reminder.

  6. Nicky from Canada says:

nothing like digging in the dirt

  7. BARB TOPPING says:

Stacy, thank you for sharing the cartoon. I believe we need lots of reminders to thank and pray for the men and women whose job it is to protect and serve our country.

I managed to plant my tomatoes today. Back issues get in my way so I simply limit how much I do in the garden in a day, but I love, love to plant flowers and to eat home grown tomatoes.

Hope you had a happy day!

  8. Ann in WI says:

What a happy little front porch you have! Love all the color.

  9. We too often take our freedoms for granted. These reminders are so important, not only to be thankful for those who went before but also those who fight for us and those who can’t fight at all. Our soldiers and police forces deserve our full support and respect for giving so much to keep us safe.

  10. Thanks for the post, Stacy. I forgot, too — about registering for your Finding Photo Freedom class. I hadn’t paid attention to the registration close date. I just went to sign up and found out I was too late. BUMMER! When are you going to teach it again?

HI Stacy! I just had to stop by and tell you I’m SOOOO excited for tomorrow! Off to get a good nights sleep so I’ll be ready for “class”! See ya!
