Friday FIVE for Monday, July 11th

I did it again — meaning I didn’t quite make it in time for Friday. I figure this is still a great list of FUN stuff to start your week off — ENJOY!

ONE

Our annual BIG Idea Festival is back.
You don’t want to miss it.
You can register HERE.

TWO

The first-ever “exclusive” Big Idea Festival kit.
Wendy, Kayce and I designed this kit and it includes a super-cool mini album from Doodlebug plus lots of other colorful product from American Crafts, Cosmo Cricket, Basic Grey and more! You can buy yours HERE.

THREE

The mosaic maker at Big Huge Labs

Big Huge Labs is an online service where you can purchase professional prints created from a high-resolution version of your customized creations. Prints are made on glossy or matte professional archive photo stock for a beautiful and durable product. I became a lifetime member, so I could feel good about using their FREE services. I’ve never actually printed anything yet — but I LOVE Big Huge Labs. Note: See my post about our trip to Canada to view two additional examples of the cool mosaic collages you can create!

FOUR

Seriously cool melamine dinner plates called Slimware.

So, check it out … the design of these plates help you eat the right kinds of food, in the right amounts. It’s the best designed portion control I’ve ever seen! Dish up your veggies in the largest spot, carbs and/or side dishes in the medium spot and proteins and entrees in the smaller spot — you can have a little more protein/entree if you’re making a healthy choice, like fish or lean chicken — extend your serving into the “extender area.” If you having red meat or a fatty main dish, you should stick to just the smaller spot.

pretty cool, eh?

FIVE

Mollie Makes magazine, published in the UK.
I’ve purchased the first two issues on my iPad and I just think it’s a really cool magazine.

Love this little video too–watch it and tell me if it doesn’t make you so happy to be a crafty chicka!

  1. Those plates are so COOL! And I just love the Big Idea Festival poster. So much so that I made a layout using it as my photo. :) http://www.flickr.com/photos/60675357@N06/5926406754/in/photostream
Think I may just have to buy that kit too. So many good things in this Fri-Monday five! Thanks for sharing!

  3. Gosh, I shouldn’t have read your post on my first day back to work after a week’s vacation — I want to turn around and go home and be CREATIVE now!! :-) Thank you for the inspiration! Have a great week!

  4. Judy Webb says:

Worth waiting until Monday for such a great post. Think I’ll go make a doll. LOL

  5. Thanks for sharing. Love that cute little video – how gorgeous are those little apple covers! Love the slimware plates too. Have a wonderful week.

  6. Kathy Jo Camacaho says:

Crafty Chicka – way to cute-ta!!!!

  7. Oh, there are few things more fabulous than crocheted apple cozies! And Bath…that was bath, wasn’t it? Lovely magazine!

  8. BARB TOPPING says:

Stacy, you find the coolest fun things. I registered for Big Idea Festival and ordered my kit yesterday. I could really use the way cool dishes for my dh. I keep trying to explain to him what size a portion is. Even though he still works 10 to 12 hours a day, a 62 year old body seems to hold onto extra calories. I am definitely checking out Big Huge Labs for collages for sb pages for two of my granddaughters. With 21 and 19 years of holidays, birthdays and life experiences I want a lo of thru the years, not individual for each event. Cool looking mag. and the video really did make me smile and left me with that happy feeling of being with friends doing something fun.
In short, I love all of your Friday Five for Monday even though I am reading it on Tuesday morning. Thanks for sharing.

  9. Oh WOW – what a cute video!! I am usually anti-tech – no smart phone, or i-pad, or facebook or twitter… But I will have to check out the on-line magazine. Precious projects and if their magazine is as creative as the video… yes, it definitely made me smile – even a little giggle!! :) :)
