Card #51 | Sent to Elizabeth in CO

Hello Monday!
I LOVE this week every year. Fall has set in and yet it’s not too cold yet. Skies are often dark and cloudy and  yet it feels comforting. Please note that I am not at all ready for Halloween. I just barely put up some decorations a week ago and I have yet to make any progress in the costume department, but I somehow feel OK with all of it, although I’ll be honest and tell you that am hoping for a productive day! Our weekends are sometimes non-stop crazy?! We even have good friends coming to eat dinner and carve pumpkins tonight (I wonder what we’ll eat?!) I must do some grocery shopping and Addie is home sick and I’ve promised to watch Tangled with her at some point — so I’m off to exercise, shower and dive in. Wish me luck!

I am so enjoying my Sunday evening card-making.
This batch is a nice mix of super-simple and simply altered …

Card #52 | Sent to Kristy in MI

Tip: It’s so easy to pull out an ink pad and give cards the added dimension of ink. I inked the edges, the embellishment and even the tiny letters and then I stamped three hearts on top!

Card #53 | Sent to Karen in OH

Card #54 | Sent to Marian in IL

Card #55| Sent to Jennifer in CT

Card #56 | Sent to Brenda in Ottawa, ON

Tip: I love the look of coordinating ribbon wrapped around this long skinny card. Ribbon is Close To My Heart and rub-on is an old one from Heidi!

Card #57 | Sent to Lisa in ME

Tip: I am loving my Knock Outs Border Punch Kit from American Crafts. Click HERE to learn more!

Speaking of American Crafts, did you hear the very exciting news about their partnership with Becky Higgins and Project Life?
I’m thrilled to see this happen as it supports retailers and they do so much to keep our industry alive and well!

Congrats to Becky and AC and everyone involved!
And btw … if you are doing Project Life, I hope you’re registered in the Project Life community at Big Picture Classes. There are over 10,200 people there, asking questions, sharing ideas and posting their work … cool!

  1. Watching Tangled with Addie sounds like the best way ever to spend time today! Enjoy.

  2. Oh, for cute! LOVE these cards. I don’t know how you are doing TWELVE AND making cards every week. But you are inspiring me to do so, too!
Get well wishes to Miss Addie!

ps- I have struggled to do my “Seasons” layouts this year, but yesterday I posted one of which I am rather proud. I don’t know if I’m prouder of the handmade tornado or the fact that I actually came up with a Seasons idea! LOL! I’d love you to take a look!

  3. I’m very excited if that Ottawa Brenda is me. I have been sending atleast 5 Happy Mail cards each week to colleagues at work with a few treats (Dessert gum that you introduced me to on a Happy Mail post several months ago and a few mini chocolates and caramels). Everyone I’ve been sending them too seems to really enjoy receiving them (no surprise there) and I’ve been having lots of fun creating them using kits that I’ve put together following May Flaum’s Kit-tastic class. I mainly digital scrapbook now but do still love the tactile aspects of working with all the papers, inks and other products in my stash and am thrilled to be using up some of those supplies and sharing the results with others. I’m thinking about including a blank card as well as a candy treat in my future Happy Mail cards so that others can send some along to a friend or colleague to make their day too. Thanks for the wonderful idea. Your weekly posts are inspiring and I’ll be “card-lifting” several of your ideas in the coming months.

  4. hi, stacy:)

i’m writing to ask you if you’d be willing to share your thoughts on PL and how you see it fitting in with LOM? we have a thread going over at Studio Calico on this topic and some of us are feeling a bit stumped. i looooove LOM and feel that it has been neglected this past year while i’ve done PL. and i’ve never been a chronological scrapper, even before LOM, so i don’t want to put myself into that box!

the thing is, there is only so much time in the day. both PL and LOM require chunks of time and i feel like i’m going to need to choose one or the other for 2013…and maybe that’s what i need to do. or i need to adapt my PL to just monthly layouts…or…??? but i’d love to know your thoughts on this, if you’re open to sharing.

    thank you!

  5. Lovin’ your Happy Mail Day posts, Stacy! Such cute CAS (for me!) cards.
