12 Days of Christmas Videos: Day 3

Since today is the Sabbath, I thought it would be appropriate to share one of my favorite Bible Videos, called Mary, the Mother of Jesus. This video pulls snippets from several other videos to create powerful insight into Mary and what she experienced and witnessed as the mother of our Savior.

At Christmas, we have the opportunity to recognize and celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. Unfortunately, our world is moving farther and farther away from the principles He lived and the commandments He taught. As Christmas becomes more and more commercial, the choice to keep Christ in Christmas will become more and more difficult. It will require intention and effort. Watching this video helps me better understand the scripture found in Luke 2:19, “But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart.” As a mother, I want what is right and best for my children at Christmas time and throughout the year, which requires my best efforts, the grace of a loving God and lots and lots of prayer.

I am most grateful for the example of Mary.
I hope you’ll share your thoughts with me!

  1. Hi Stacy, Thank you sharing this video. It was lovely. I hope more people remember the true meaning of Christmas. C.Robin

  2. Being a mother is both the hardest and most rewarding role I carry in life. Thanks for the reminder to think about how we present the season to our children (even our grown up ones!)

Your gift of sharing is a blessing in my life. Not being a mother doesn’t negate my empathy for a mothers love. And, I think it helps me care better for my own mother. I pray your health is good and you are remembering to take care of you during this busy time of the year. Thank you for teaching and reaching out in your mission of faith and love.

This was wonderful. Thank you for sharing. It is amazing the faith Mary must have had in God and his plan…accepting the role of mother for our savior, Jesus Christ. She faced such censure and heartache but never doubted. A scared, young, pregnant, unmarried woman, sure to be condemned to death for “this sin”, raising a young man who began teaching “the teachers” the true way of God and being outcast for it, watching her son die a brutal and public death and having no power to stop it. But through it all she ALWAYS had Faith in her son and God’s plan. Jesus does not deny his mother. Her story is a humbling reminder of our true role as mothers.
Hail Mary, Full of Grace the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary Mother of God, Pray for us Sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.”

  5. Mothering. The hardest but most rewarding job on earth. One must be prayerful in the quiet to truly reap the message here. Thank you.

  6. I teach high school juniors at my church. I always ask them to consider that Mary said yes. What kind of faith that took. And then to walk with her son and trust in God for his journey. Such an example.
