My CHA workshop + October Afternoon goodies!

I am teaching Finish Line Scrapbooking at the new CHA Super Show in Anaheim, CA January 22-23rd. Kayce, Dawn (the new marketing director at BPS) and several other friends will be helping me and attending the trade show as well!

I’m super excited as I’ll be in a classroom set up for 200 people — imagine! I’m also pretty excited because this SuperShow isn’t just for scrapbookers, but all crafters and Finish Line is a perfect class for someone who has yet to take the scrapbooking plunge; anyone that has never worked in a 6×6 format; anyone that needs to overcome common barriers to creative scrapbooking; anyone that would love to learn a wonderful creative process for getting a bunch of pictures into an adorable album FAST … hey, this class is for anyone!

American Crafts is on board as a sponsor with 6×6 Modern Albums and I’ve selected 5 two-sided pattern papers from October Afternoon.

When you come (I’m looking forward to meeting lots of blog readers) you will need to bring 25 to 45 4×6 photographs and 50 black embellishments (buttons, brads, frames, tickets, photo turns, etc…) and be ready for two-hours for energizing fun that results in a finished 6×6 scrapbook.

I’ll be posting more information about gathering embellishments and sharing some of my favorites.

I have taught Finish Line for 3 years in lots of different places (London, Sydney, Wellington, Japan — and at several CK conventions.) I never grow tired of teaching this class, because it is such a treat to see all those photos come in and so many different and wonderful albums go out.I get to work with different papers and see the unique results of students bringing their own embellishments and design flair to the experience.

I love this class and this process so much that I am developing a Finish Line class for Big Picture Scrapbooking. More info on that coming soon!

Learn more about the CHA SuperShow HERE.

See my class description and register HERE.

If you live anywhere near Anaheim, California you will most definitely want to come to this SuperShow and *wink* take my class.

I have one other very cool surprise up my sleeve. I’m working with my friend Molly to do something I’ve always wanted to do. We will debut at CHA and I cannot wait to tell (and show) you more!

In the meantime, October Afternoon was MORE than generous with me when they sent me my CHA Finish Line papers. I have THREE hefty packages of Happy Mail (full of beautiful NEW OA product) ready to send out. Leave me a comment and tell me “yes” or “no,” have you ever created a 6×6 album? I’ll close comments on Friday at noon and post the results by 3:00pm.

I have once. It was really fun and turned out very cute. I should try it again.
Thanks for the chance to win! :)

  2. Melissa says:

I have created about a dozen 6×6 mini books. This is easily my favorite format.

  3. Janet says:

No, lots of other quick and easy PAS, but never 6×6. hmmmmm

  4. Kris Van Allen says:

    YES YES YES!!!!

I love to make 6×6 albums!! any mini size, but Stacy you turned me on to the idea of ordering photos for a mini all in 4×4 size, with white borders, so when the photos arrived they were the right size and already matted!

  5. Kelly says:

Yes! I think I’ve done about four of them and I’m working on an AC 6×6 Modern album for my daily holiday album right now. I love the small size that enables me to quickly get the memory on a page.

  6. Jennifer Land says:

Yes, I’ve made several. Sometimes small is the way to go!

  7. Donelle says:

Yes. 6X6 digital album and a CKU album now that I think about it.

  8. Cheryl says:

Yes! I took your class at CKC Seattle last year and loved it. My daughter just loves the album I made in that class…it was just moments between her and I. Oh by the way…I love it too. and loved your class. I loved the music you played in it..very fast and peppy…but I can’t remember what the songs were. What were they? they were great is all I can remember and boy they had us scrapping up a storm. Love the new paper line you’ve decided to use…..my have to do another :) And may have to check out your BPS class for a refresher :)

  9. Christine Mc says:

Yes, I have! It’s a great size to work with – VERY fast! THanks for sharing – good luck with your class.

  10. Laura says:

No, I’ve never completed a 6 x 6 album — did an 8 x 8 as a gift once. Good luck with the class — sounds great. I’m nowhere near CA!

  11. Connie says:

    Yes I have!!!

  12. L. Lynn says:

Yes. I do one that size every year for my Christmas album. I love that it is a fun size, yet I can get the album done quickly.

  13. Stacy says:

Yes! I love 6 X 6 because it’s so quick. I did a 6 X 6 for a trip to SF and one for our trip on the Disney Cruise. Fun!

  14. Gail says:

Yes, lots of them for gifts and for myself! My favorite so far is the one I did for my Grandmother’s 100th birthday. It was so wonderful to talk to her about her life, get a timeline and photos to chronicle her 100 years.

  15. Kim Huschke says:

YES! Love that size! Especially for gifts!

  16. Laura says:

Yes, I’ve made lots of 6×6 albums! In fact, I make year in review albums every year for the grandparents as Christmas gifts, since they live so far away. I use 6×6 albums for this because I am making four albums (my mom, my MIL, my FIL and one for me too!) and 6×6 is the most economical size when doing this many albums…I find the size frustrating after awhile, but it’s great to be able to cut down a sheet of 12×12 cardstock and get 4 pages for my albums with no waste.

  17. Kelly R. says:

    Yes!

  18. Kara says:

No, I’ve never created a 6×6. 7×7, yes, but that was when I copied a whole album for a friend.

  19. Lisa L. says:

Oh I love October Afternoon! I have done a 6×6 album.

  20. Michelle P. says:

october afternoon has some of the coolest products. i would love to win.

  21. Libby says:

Yes, I think that I created one about 4 years ago. The reason that I say “think” is that it was a Creative Memories album and kit that a friend purchase and assembled and gave me as a baby shower gift. All I had to do was add pictures, journaling and a few extra embellishments. Is that considered creating? :-) I think I would have more success completing an album if I tried a smaller size than 12×12.

  22. Christine C says:

NO – I have one here ready to go, but I have trouble deciding what to put in it – I think we need to go on a little trip so I can make a mini album about it.

  23. Melanie Cooper says:

NO, i surely haven’t made a 6×6 book. My biggest hurdle is picking pictures. And its so sweet for you to share your goodies.

  24. bren yule says:

Hi Stacy, YES I have worked in many 6×6 formats and I love it! I would also love to see you! Maybe CHA will be the place! thanks for all your sharing! sprinkley hugs, bren

  25. Mara says:

No. I’ve done a 5×7 and loved it but I tend to stick to the big pages.

  26. AnnieB says:

Junt on 6×6 album. It was the daily gratitude album I did for 2008.

  27. Karla says:

Yes, they are my favorite because they are so easy (two cuts per sheet) to get your foundation ready for the fun stuff!

  28. Gina Jackson says:

Yes, I’ve created a couple 6X6 albums. They are fun and quick to make.

  29. Jan says:

Yes, I have. I love 6 x 6 albums – they make great gifts – I’m finishing one up at the moment – a little wedding album for my friend for her first wedding anniversay. Great giveaway Stacy!

  30. Andrea says:

I have created a couple- last year my December Daily album was a 6×6, and I have had the privilege of taking your Finish Line class (outside DC), so that album is DONE, of course.

  31. Tammy says:

Yes, I have created 6×6 albums. They are actually one of my favorite things to create as gifts. I’m excited to hear what you have up your sleeve with your friend Molly and wish I was going to CA for CHA. Your class sounds great and I hope you have a wonderful time.

  32. Bammela says:

No, the closest I’ve gotten is 8 X 8 or 6 X 12. I guess I’m too long-winded and my journaling takes up too much room. I think 6 X 6 would be a real challenge for me!

  33. Shannon says:

I haven’t. But I am always up for something new!

  34. Lynn says:

Yes, I have created numerous gift albums in 6×6 and some recipe albums for swaps with friends. One was even A-Z with a recipe for every letter! I love the ability to get in there and get it done so quickly. Also gave one to a teeball coach with pictures of all the players! Turned out so great I made one for our house!

  35. Brooke J says:

yes I have. and what a great giveaway

  36. Erin Vandervelde says:

No, Stacy, I have never completed a 6×6 album. Your class sounds fabulous. I wish California was closer to Illinois. Thank you for the chance to win.

  37. Amy says:

Yes, i’ve made several. At least two are on-going, i keep adding to them. i really like them, and so does my 4 year old!

  38. Kelly says:

I’ve started a 6×6 album…it’s just not completed yet:) I like creating in all shapes and sizes.

  39. Anne T. says:

I made a 6×6 album as a gift for my mother a few years ago and currently my December Daily project is in a 6×6 American crafts modern album. I love October Afternoon products! My current favorite is their Farm Fresh collection which I’m using to pre-design a scrapbook and some nursery decorations for our first baby that is due in February. What an awesome giveaway! Thanks for the chance to win.

  40. Jill says:

YES! I have created a 6×6 album. They are so fun because they feel so productive. And when you have OA as some extra inspiration you can’t go wrong.

  41. Kristy says:

Yes! When I walked in the Breast Cancer 3 Day in San Diego, I made a pink 6 x 6 album with all my great memorable photos!

  42. TerrieF says:

    Yes! Love 6X6!

  43. Angie U. says:

Yes – I’ve done 6×6, 8×8, and 4×4. Lots of fun to do a small, quick project that can actually be completed and enjoyed.

  44. joen says:

Yes – several. They are a great way to introduce kids to scrapbooking..a great birthday party activity too.

  45. Monika Wright says:

I have don LOTS of 6×6 albums. Mostly, I purchase the seasonal American Crafts 6×6 at Hobby Lobby when I have a coupon, or they blow them out after the holiday. Then, I use them to scrap an album for my in-laws and my Mom. I have done this the past several Christmases and they are a hit. Rather than filing away the Christmas photos I would print out for them, they have the album out and can look at it all year and see how the kids have grown, what was the current “in” thing and just all the priceless expressions the holidays can bring. Can you tell I like 6×6 mini’s?

  46. Franci - Wyckoff, NJ says:

No I have never created a 6X6 album. I’ll have to put that on the list

  47. Cynthia says:

Yes! I have done a 6×6 album, but only once or twice. So much fun and really quick. Thanks for the great give-a-ways, and Merry Christmas!

  48. Cindy says:

Yes. but only 1 time. No idea why I’ve never done it again!
