My 2008 Present
On October 1st, 2008 with the help of LOTS of fellow bloggers, I issued a challenge to put ten or twelve photos of your present life together in a small, portable album. The intent was to keep this album with or near you for one whole year, looking through it frequently. On October 1st, 2009, I asked for a collective commitment to complete a scrapbook layout about our year-long experiment along with an experience or two that grew out of it.
Here’s my layout.
And here’s a link to a Flickr group where you can post yours. ( http://www.flickr.com/groups/thepresent/)
Remember: You can give yourself a PRESENT any time. Just stop, look around, take it all in and then capture what you see with photos, words or both. Carry this evidence with you and watch your present change.
Be Here Now. This is your life. You don’t want to miss any of it (from the book, “5″ published by Compendium)
My Present: 2008

A brilliant Sunset: Reminds me of the 1st day of September and the 30 Days project that inspired the MY PRESENT challenge.

My friend Kerry: There are only a few women that have put up with me over the years. These women require very little of me. I call them low-maintenance friends.

Age span + Connection: This is the spread of my motherhood. The first and the last and I love Clark's gentle manner and Addie's trust and unconditional love.

What I signed up for: Sunday evening walks are the best. I was preparing to leave for South Africa and I just sat and watched and soaked it all up.

Trey is TEN!: o, I'm home from South Africa one day and it's Trey's birthday. The fridge is empty and I'm still in jet-lag land. No eggs, no fruit, no bread, not much in the way of birthday's breakfasts, so I cook up about 15 pieces of bacon and make Cheerio parfaits with maraschino cherries and sprinkles. Taft asks, "Mom, can we make these every time it's a birthday?"
