A RED-letter Christmas š š¼
Thank YOU for visiting my site and reading my blog!
I so appreciate the connection we share and Iām looking forward to another year together. Hereās a portion of the Julian family Christmas letterāfor you!
As you likely know, a red-letter day is any day that is of special significance or opportunity. Like important days are often indicated in red on a calendar, we think this year should be marked red in history. We are primary sources for an unprecedented and upside down time and we are mindful of the loss of life and livelihood for so many. We pray for solutions and seek for hindsight that will continue to reveal the bigger purposes and specific blessings in this Covid-19 experience. Here are a few other red-lettered words to describe our year.
AdoRED: Our new (first) grandchild, Audrey Rose Julian, born February 1stājust before the world shut down. She is the light of our lives and our favorite person to FaceTime.
ExploRED: The walking paths around our neighborhoodāover and over again! Also new ways of connecting with friends and family as well as new options for worshipping, serving and working from home!
InspiRED: By people doing good in difficult circumstances. From essential workers, to quarantined missionaries to SGN with John Krasinski weāve seen so many examples of humans stepping up and out to brighten our days and lighten the collective load.
TiRED: We are, of this pandemic! And wearing masks and not gathering or going to movies or taking trips or smiling at friends and strangers, but also grateful for the things weāve learned and the things weāve learned to appreciate more: Toilet paper, teachers and time as a family to walk and talk and play cards after dinner!
AnchoRED: In hope through Jesus Christ. Hereās the scripture (The Book of Mormon, Ether 12:4) āWherefore, whoso believeth in God might with surety hope for a better world, yea, even a place at the right hand of God, which hope cometh of faith, maketh an anchor to the souls of men, which would make them sure and steadfast, always abounding in good works, being led to glorify God.ā
WondeRED: So often about YOU and your family and grateful beyond all the words (with red in them) for your friendship!
Weāve learned that the future cannot be pREDicted, but we are hopeful that together we can REDiscover the things weāve missed with new eyes and a commitment to be more aware, more grateful AND more helpful ā¤ļø
