Banana Day 🍌
It’s also Geoff Day, but the BEST way (in my opinion) to celebrate America’s most popular fruit on the day set aside to celebrate it 🍌🍌🍌 is to make BANANA BROWNIES for your husband on his day!
Did you follow that?
My recipe for Banana Brownies is from my friend, JaNiese Jensen, during the time we both had very little boys and lived in Lewiston, Idaho.
For long periods of our family life this recipe was prepared every Friday afternoon—back in the day when I had a full-time nanny and I could say, “Hey, will you make banana brownies?” and like magic, they were made! 😀 But truly, this is such an EASY and YUMMY recipe—Addie and I just whipped it up in about 15 minutes and the 25 minute timer just went off. Which means I have made banana brownies, cleaned up and blogged about it in 40 minutes flat!
Here’s the original recipe:
Now, I make a GLUTEN FREE, less-sugar version by substituting 2 cups of flour with 1 cup of Bob’s Red Mill Oat flour, 1/2 cup Bob’s Red Mill GF Garbanzo Flava flour and 1/2 cup Bob’s Red Mill Paleo flour —I know, that’s a lot of Bob’s Red Mill, but I gotta say it’s my FAVORITE for baking! I also substitute the brown sugar for Swerve and then only add 1/3 cup granulated sugar.
🍌 Still delicious.
As long as you have a brown banana you still have time to make some TODAY!
