Be My ValenSLIME!

ValenSLIME1.jpg

Addie is a slime-making whiz girl. She needs no recipe and no reason for whipping up a new batch. A BIG bottle of Elmer's is her go-to playmate most days after school. When we chatted about making valentines for her class this year, it just made sense that she would make slime.

Here's what you'll need to make your own ValenSLIME gifts.

  • Small containers that you can label. You could use something you collect, like baby-food jars, purchase some small Gladware type containers at the grocery store, or order some of the many options available at Amazon. We used THESE CUTE TINS with screw top lids.

  • Elmer's clear glue

  • Baking soda

  • Contact lens solution

  • Food coloring

Since Addie is all about making small batches—it's more fun this way—I thought I'd record her one time all the way through. I've had several moms ask me for a recipe, but I can't pin this girl down. She is a little free-spirited chemist, so the best I can do is this 7 minute video, which will at least prove that you DO HAVE ENOUGH TIME to make slime!

And to help you in the slime-gifting department, I'm sharing the 2" circle labels that you can print, punch or cut and then adhere to the top of these little containers. CLICK HERE to download the PDF.

According to Addie it is 100% better to make your slime match the color on the lid and we figured the boys in her class might prefer blue and green slime to pink and red, but really all of these colors will work for anyone and for any container that is a circle, just slightly bigger than 2 inches.

Let us know what you think!
