Friday FIVE for June 9. 2023

ONE. Just One Me

There’s a super CUTE and beautifully written/constructed experience from Compendium, Inc. that I want to kick off my list with. It’s called Just One Me and it is a storybook with a companion stuffed Koala bear designed to help a new big sibling welcome a baby to their family. You can learn more and purchase HERE!

What I love most is that the storybook is one the older sibling contributes to. The book opens with a place for them to write their name and in the first few pages, their drawing of their family. The goal is clearly to help a young child recognize how and why they are unique and special—what they do now and how they will contribute to this growing family. There are places where a parent and this older child get to imagine together and anticipate how things might change, but also what will stay the same and how this new baby will need to be helped and loved and taught.

Just One Me makes my grandma heart very happy!

TWO. Crunch Labs Subscription

I am in LOVE with this subscription and so is my teenage daughter—yes, daughter. Addie is almost 16 years old and she absolutely LOVES getting her monthly Crunch Labs box in the mail.
Really? Yes. Really.
Mark Rober is a former NASA engineer, genius inventor turned entrepreneur—with 20 million + YouTube fans and now, via Crunch Labs—STEM educator and promoter. In 2022, Fast Company called him the Willy Wonka of engineering and in addition to all of this, Mark has a brand new show on Discovery called the Revengineers.

Yes, the Julians are HUGE fans.

You can follow Mark on Instagram HERE.
And post your kit-building adventures HERE.

THREE. Pyrex Inspired Washi Tape

If you are a child of the 1970s, there’s a very good chance your mom had Pyrex dishes and there’s a decent chance those dishes featured this Spring Blossom pattern. Mine did.

I wish I could remember who first told me about this Washi tape and where to find it, but at least I’m passing it on to YOU. And no worries, you’ll also find the Wishing on Dandelions and Dancing Flowers patterns represented too!

FOUR. Florence and her Fantastic Family Tree

I’m often asked about documenting the details of family life when the realities of death and divorce leave us feeling broken or at least outside the lines of “normal” and for this reason I LOVE this book!

I won’t spoil it except to say that when Florence figures out how to map her family tree for a classroom project, the result is awesome!

FIVE. Be Bold with Jody Moore

IF you were to ask me to list my TOP 5 coping strategies, my annual subscription to Jody Moore’s Be Bold membership would make the list. I’m sharing it now, because it’s renewal time and when I get the renewal notice—for the 5th time—I will think, “should I …?” and then I will almost immediately answer, Um, YES!

I have come to really believe in the power of a life coach—especially mine. I try to share my enthusiastic recommendation in most conversations, especially where a friend is experiencing or enduring hard stuff —AND—let’s be honest, who isn’t experiencing or enduring hard stuff.

I’ve also mentioned Jody many times on my podcast, but I don’t think I’ve ever listed her program on a Friday FIVE, so here you go: You can sign up HERE and tell her Stacy sent you—except I just realized that you can’t sign up until she opens the doors again—so, in the meantime, I’ll recommend one of Jody’s $19 dollar short courses. She has one coming up in July, called The Art of Happiness. AND, I promise at the end of this experience, she’ll give you a chance to jump into Be Bold!

AND, that’s my list for today. I hope you’ll let me know when you purchase and/or try something I recommend!
