Look & See Storytelling

Everyday Circles | June 2022

I 🧡 LOVE photography challenges.

This is why I created Look & See inside the Live Your Story membership. Each month I invite members to look for specific things in their world—and then take a picture.

In June, one of our challenges was to see and photograph everyday circles and I did—not surprisingly they were nearly everywhere!

Then during our monthly Play Date, I gathered 9 of these photos on this page to illustrate details of my life right now. Since today is Camera Day, I thought I’d share …

📸 Right to Left

Not one but two roadtrips to Seattle: The first, to see Clark graduate from dental school at the University of Washington—what an accomplishment, and in the midst of a pandemic. So proud of WC and his sweet little family! Then my dad drove up from Utah and Taft and I accompanied him to the retirement party of a good friend, who flew helicopter all the years my dad was Washington’s wildlife veterinarian.

Healthy Support
My daily dose of hormonal support (thyroid x2, progesterone, estrogen, cod liver oil and vitamin D). Aging gracefully is hard work, but I’m grateful for good doctor’s and modern medicine!

Taft’s T-shirt Quilt
Before Taft left on his mission—2 years ago—we assembled a super-cool quilt of his favorite T-shirts. My job was to hire out the quilting portion and sew up the edges. Naturally, I procrastinated, but I’m happy to report that I finished with a full 48 hours to spare, ha!

Poppi on the Porch
When I don’t take a nap (and sometimes when I do) I make sure I get a few minutes in the late afternoon sitting on my porch with my book—and a Poppi!

My Scripture Mug
Filled with my favorite chalk pencils and pen for marking as I read. Of all my daily rituals this is my absolutely favorite for securing a sense of peace.

Bike Rides to the River
Last summer Addie and I set aside Tuesday mornings for a bike ride—and we did it. She had the goal of being able to ride up our very long, 1/2 mile, steep hill and she did it. We’ve decided this effort is worth repeating. It’s so FUN to notice how the water level and foliage changes each week as we ride along The Centennial Trail. Plus, it’s FUN exercise!

Exercise Walks
June was SO RAINY. We are super grateful for the moisture, but just know that I was ready to get outside and up the hill. I have 4 different loops that I love. Fresh air and a good sweat = 😀😀😀

Salad for Breakfast
I’m practicing Kale. I don’t love it yet, but I definitely like it more. AND a breakfast salad is a great way to go. I cut it up, massage it with a healthy low-sugar dressing, add a scoop of cottage cheese and sprinkle on some berry and seeds. Go me!

Tahini Cookies
These are my NEW FAVORITE. I’m going to post the recipe real soon (promise!) I’ve made them at least 5 times in the last 30 days. And the last time I looked down and noticed all those circles helping me!
